COMPLETE LIST OF INVINCIBLE DARKCHILD TRACKS (1999-2001)

I can pretty much guess what the song sounds like. Pretty much what tracks 2 and 3 sound like on Invincible. I'm not really interested. I care more about a song like Buffalo Bill or anything from 1978-1991 era.
I've heard more than the leaked snippets that're online. Ngl it's pretty overhyped. The vocal performance from mj isn't all that good, can't tell what he says in a lot of it. The production's also kinda bad, i think it needed a better mix it's very like gritty, that' the only word I can think of to describe it. The lyrics (from what i can even understand) are also kinda goofy, verses bare similarity to the melody of Invincible. I know alot about the song if you guys have any other questions about it. Overall it's a passable track but nothing amazing. Basically on the level of Privacy maybe a little worse.

I've been here for so long, and come to a certain point where I only long for the unreleased/unheard songs we know exist out there based on proof. Basically because I have so little hope for hearing anything official.

Like that "Lovely Way" snippet we got from back in 2020. Someone was selling it for crypto if I remember correctly:

Lovely Way Snippets A Fake btw.

Lovely Way isn't from invincible era. Also first time I've heard that the snippet is fake.
The era is unknown, but the title is indeed real it was reworked by Mark Ronson to be released posthumously but never made the cut. The snippet is CLEARLY fake, at least to me and most people i come in contact with. The lyrics make absolutely no sense at all which is a sign that it is consisted of acapellas of other songs edited together. You can hear distortion near the end from where its edited. The beatbox in the intro is offbeat as well, it just doesn't even really sound like an mj song. The watermark which says "this is the property of legend80" has appeared in other fake snippets -
also not sure if you know about the story but the guy who posted the snippet contacted these people to set up a crowd funding and announced it, hyped it up, then.... cancelled it out of nowhere lol.

It's exactly how it sounds like lol, it's like a mashup of Invincible and Privacy, everyone that heard it says it's not a song that stands out.

I'm not really interested in hearing the other DarkChild tracks honestly, if I were to choose to hear an outtake from the Invincible era I would rather listen to BabyFace or Dr Freeze's outtakes.

I can confirm, It's just another passable Invincible track. I love darkchild so I am very interested in what he did with mj (hence why i created this thread lol)

Lol I understand, he's great and I really like the 2001 demo of Escape and Heartbreaker, but hearing about Angel and Jungle City gets me more excited for their songs.

I don't know who produced Monster though, but that'd be my most wanted song from Invincible.

Yeah I'm aware Mark Ronson reworked it. I always assumed this was a snippet of his remix as the vocals sound processed. I guess it could be fake. The audio watermark appearing on other fake snippets isn't really a good sign. Iirc the user who tried to set the sale up is a regular on here so maybe they'll chime in.

Monster is one I really want to hear from the descriptions that have been given of it. Even if it doesn't have any verse vocals. There are apparently none, although Iirc someone who worked on it recalled recording all sorts of vocals. That could easily be layered chorus vocals though so who knows.

I want to hear it as well, the producer says that is one of Michael's most instrumentally complex songs. sadly mj only recorded the chorus of the song, nothing else which means the rest is either the writer's vocals or just instrumental.

Actually Jungle City And Angel aren't jerkins tracks (assuming thats what you meant) and Angel isn't confirmed to be a legit title

Yes, I was referring to Dr Freeze and BabyFace's songs.

The song does exist with that title, BabyFace says it's a fantastic song.
Yeah, it's allegedly from a babyface interview (along with do you love me) but it can't be found anywhere which is suspicious. If you have a link i'd love to see it ty! been looking for it forever

Lovely Way Snippets A Fake btw.
If the snippet is from Mark Robsons reworked version, it can easily explain the weird autotune/melodyne effect done on the vocals. Sure, we have no proof if it's real, but we have no proof it's fake either... I haven't seen anyone mash together MJ words that flawless in that case. Beatboxing sounds off, but they can be from the raw acapella, and just left untouched with the new instrumental/reworked instrumental mixed over it.

My bet is; it is real, and I kind of believe the story from the member here who got it from some crypto person who wanted it payed for in crypto like the story was posted.

I couldn't find any link, I'm sorry. The MJCast mentions the song briefly on Invincible 20 Roundtable and those were the exact words they said, Damien Shields also shared Invincible's tracklist from 1999 and it included the song, but the tweet is gone. Sorry for not being able to help.

as I said before, it's hard to understand alot of it but from my understanding the chorus is something along the lines of "Just get your weight off of me. Why don't you just handle me. Don't talk of bein' afraid." like i said before it's pretty goofy lol and the flow of the chorus is odd and not really catchy like the other Darkchild tracks.

Yeah, it's usually very obvious to me if something has been spliced together and this doesn't really sound like that to me. Just sounds like there's Melodyne or some other processing software on the vocals, which is why I assumed it was the Mark Ronson version. Possibly an unfinished mix. The watermark having been used on other possibly fake stuff does give me pause though.

How would we explain the lyrics though? "Gimme Some Lovin' And I Won't Make It , Everything I Do" It's obviously not a demo with unintelligible lyrics if they were going to rework and release it in 2010. It reminds me alot of this one fake from a few years back thats yana clips edited together - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uCKsbtB746cAPeIhDXu5tUDeApeVB0_d/view?usp=sharing
i think it's a situation similar to Angel Love.

It could be a similar situation to I Am A Loser though, some people who had that song kept splicing different parts of the song together to make it sound like a new snippet.

It could be "gimme some lovin'" is in one verse and the "everything I do" is a different verse. Just a thought

My friend and i actually discussed this exact thing! It is a possibility but the instrumental doesnt have noticable cuts like the vocals so i think its just the natural sound of it, not spliced together (like the vocals probably are)
Also small note i noticed that there is an odd pause between the vocals that say "every" and "thing" which is super weird since its one word, why would mj decide to stop saying it half way through then continue?? Also i'm noticing alot of vocal editing particularly at the end the snippet. When mj says the "every" in "everything" it has some type of distortion almost like when you slow something down and it sounds choppy . I bet money it is spliced vocals together of previous songs with pitch editing.

I still don't buy it, the splicing is obvious in the audio you posted.

Also, it could be that he is singing "give me some more lovin", and the "everything I do" part is not really clear. Also, what we hear is out of context and could suddenly make sense if we heard more from both before the line and after.

Edit: He could easily be singing "give me some/some more loving, OR I won't make it, (it's) everything I (need?)" which would suddenly make sense

I thought he was saying "Give me Summer Lovin" lol. But "Some lovin" does make more sense. Ha!

Don't really know much about that track other than maybe 1980? Which would've lined up with a Triumph outtake I guess.

Probably not if this was real (dont think it is) mj didn't really beatbox like this in any songs until later on

Thought he beat boxed in Working Day and Night. Actually, going back further, Blues Away as well.

This is not true, he did beatbox during OTW era as well as Thriller era (P.Y.T Demo for example)

I mean in the same style, i know he did it before Triumph but I can't recall any example of a released song where he beatboxes audibly in this way from that time period. Also it's mixed really weird, whoever made it for some reason they did some serious stereo widening to the beatbox sounds

People who hate on Vince are stuck in the past IMO.

Sure, the mixing could've been better, but the whole 'loudness war' started in the 2000s. And the album has a lot of fillers (ballads) and it's far from perfect.

But the 'gritty' MJ voice on new gen production is something great. In spite of all it's flaws, it's my fav album. The leaked outtakes from that period sound great (Chicago, Xscape, APWNN, Another Day, The Way You Love Me, Beautiful Girl). Wish the tracklist would’ve been more cohesive.

Very excited for the unreleased outtakes.

I never quite understood criticism of an album having too much ballads or vice versa uptempo songs. There is no law that states everything should be balanced. Some of my favorite albums hardly have uptempo tracks (listen without prejudice, sold 10 million albums in the US alone)) and don’t forget that album is from one of the biggest pop stars of all time (George Michael) who was known for making upbeat danceable tracks at that point.

The beatles didn’t care either, they released a triple album at one point and Abbey Road of which the entire B side is a freaking medley of unfinished songs.

Bob Dylan also swam against the current and upset the entire folk community for going electric, Neil Young released a an out of date by 30 years rockabilly album in the 80s either because he wanted to or because he said f*** you to his record company, only he knows. Now granted this album was no success lol.

There is no formula for success.
