BAD Tour 1987 get's overlooked a lot

It’s not a sickness it’s a cure
Oh, you say that without knowing the full nature of my love lol… it is intense and beyond sanity and obnoxiously evident all over some specific threads haha.

But I agree. It is the cure ™️ to everything.

Yes, it is one of my channels (the other one being MJbr2).
I'm glad you're following the right path, padawan. I can understand you. My favorite album is Bad and the Bad Tour is my favorite, hence why I created this channel years ago haha
Haha I love it and admire it!! Is your other channel also MJ related? Or are you also a lifestyle vlogger or something? :)

If it is the kind of love like in the film “fatal attraction” then I advice professional help 😜

Copied over from Hulkamaniac's thread:

1987 BAD Tour Tokyo ABC News Umatic PROMO Tape

Picture quality gorgeous. Sound quality uneven. Quite scratchy at the start, lots of interference. But underneath that the sound is fine, nice and clear compared to other versions I've watched. From HN onwards the sound gets cleaned up.

MJbr2, you've really confused me now. I thought there never was a red shirt. Black, which was only worn once, first show. Silver, obvs. And blue which was never worn at all. Michael Bush mentioned the blue shirt in the auction video and I've seen a picture of it but I believe it was never used.

Thought there was no red shirt, just people photoshopping a red shirt into various photos.

🤔

Yes. Legend has it MJ had Michael Bush come up with different colors for the shirt and tried them all out to see which of them would favor the stage lights more. After trying the three, he settled for the silver one.
Which I totally understand but, ngl, I LOVE the black one and wish he had worn it more. I get why they ditched it but, oh man, it looks awesome.

So does the red one, honestly haha
Well, this is the embarrassing thing. I actually LOVE the red top on him so it makes it even more ridiculous that I got myself in a muddle over 1987 / 1988. Some of my fave ever photos of Michael live are with the red top. There are two in particular that were always used in the UK press and which are burned into my brain, I love them so much. Both of the photos have him with his arm outstretched, you'll know the ones I mean.

I still prefer the black top but that's just a personal thing. He always looks so gorgeous in black. There's a melodramatic look to that black top that puts it on a whole other level, imo. And, although I moan about it, I kind of like the fact that he only wore the black top once. Kind of makes that first show even more special, iyswim.

I think what plays a part of 87 Bad tour being overlooked is that it circulated for so long and was watched many many times leaving us wondering what was the 88/89 portion of the tour was like knowing the set list.

Well he probably ditched the red because of 2 red thriller jackets & beat it being red & so far as blue...I'd say because of twymmf is blue although he used a white shirt in LA of 89 & probably other dates

I love the 87 leg of the tour, I'd love to see the black shirt show in Tokyo and the red shirt show as well, if I'm allowed to be greedy.

Michael was on fire, probably his peak as a live performer. He still had amazing live vocals of the Triumph Tour, he still had the boundless energy that he had during the Victory Tour, but he honed his performance a lot since 84. During the 87 leg he learned a lot, like when to slow it down and focus the audiences attention, sometimes less is more

Are any of these 87 concerts online somewhere? I have seen Yokohama before way back in 2000 on tape ( I lost that tape) but you warmed me up to watch it again.
How many of those have leaked in full?

f&m, there's great clips all over this thread. Check out the first two pages, especially. :D

I can't find it at the moment after a search on here, but if maybe someone has a valid download link to HappyLee's upscale of the Yokohama concert it would be worth your while to check it out! IMO I think its the best version out there, though admittedly I might have missed a new transfer or something in the last couple of years.
