Thriller 40th Anniversary

Do you know if it's the november 8th or 10th deposition? I can't find where he says that. Baby Be Mine is one of my favorites from Thriller, it would be exciting to see that there's another song similar to it...
Man, you'll burn me alive, but I've listened only once in my life time to that song.

Has the deposition leaked in its entirety? I always felt the circulating video's been edited.

Here's to hoping we finally get to hear Michael's version of this song

I really like Spice Of Life, I'd love to hear Mike's version.

I do get why they were left off of Thriller. Spice Of Life sounds exactly like Baby Be Mine and Mystery has a similar vibe to Human Nature in terms of structure

I wonder if with links back to Q producing, if the Estate will be forbidden from using them. I assume if they were recorded at Westlake

I find it weird they haven't announced the tracklist for the 2nd cd. People should know what they're getting if it's available for pre order. Seems they've announced this a bit early if I'm honest.

Why wasn't a got to be there 50th anniversary?
Got To Be There wasn't released via Sony Music and Universal didn't do any anniversary editions except for the Motown 60th anniversary where they just re-released the first two J5 albums in Japan and The Jacksons expanded editions

I only wanna see if it's something worth to wait for, it's gonna be pretty disappointing if the only songs they release are songs that already leaked or has been released in more unknown media.

So what is the deal with the vinyl release? Is there going to be a bundle with unreleased stuff or are we getting only the album itself?
I gotta know if I should place a preorder on the current vinyl or wait for the bundle..
All of the vinyl releases that have been announced don't contain any bonus material. So far only the CD has bonus content.

It’s not very out of the ordinary. The same was done for Michael, Xscape, and Bad 25. Matter of fact, most albums don’t announce the track listing until closer to the release date.

I don't think MJ ever recorded Spice of Life. This is a Rod Temperton song. My guess, Rod just re-used the melody of Baby Me Mine for Spice of Life.

iirc Q, Bruce & Rod have worked on some songs at the Encino house for a short period of time before they've moved over to Westlake.

The time period between initial album announcement and release date was way shorter in case of Michael & Xscape compared to Bad25 and now Thriller40.

I wonder if the 4k videos referenced will include the Motown 25 performance of ‘billie Jean’? it could be uploaded to the official social media pages. I’ve been asking for that for years.

won't happen 'cause it was recorded on tape but it could be remastered using A.I.

While I’m not as distraught as some people are about the packaging, the difference between Thriller 40 and Bad 25 are night and day. B25 is the best thing the Estate has ever done, and even though it didn’t sell too well, I still feel like Thriller necessitates attention of that caliber.

Which kind of camera did they use for the Motown 25 Billie Jean performance?
Film?

Just imagine watching THAT performance in 4k!
It's tape. That's master tape quality for ya. Bad tour could have been easily released in that quality if the master tapes were ever found.

This whole overblown reaction regarding Thriller 40 has made me realize something about MJ fans: They, just like the man himself, are never satisfied with anything.

Some of y'all are literally having panic attacks over a font choice. If this is you, I encourage you to take a few deep breaths, turn off the computer/phone, and re-assess your priorities. Like, have you never heard the phrase "don't judge a book by its cover?"

I know that the powers-that-be at the Estate have made dumb decisions in the past, but they're giving us official, unreleased MJ material for the first time in 8 years. This is a victory for us.

I Agreed 100% 👍

I think people should expect the best for Michael but theres also a difference between people expressing their disapointment vs freaking out. Some people way overreact to things.

Me personally? I'm just glad to see them make audiophile releases and care about sound quality again and I can only hope it extends to the baseline 2CD copies as well.

It's better than nothing. Wish they had released the show from July 15th, though.
No. It's not better than nothing. Is album with 3 fake songs also better than no album? That is not up to Michael Jackson's standards! MJ would never do it like that and that is a fact.
