🥰🥰🥰🥰

This one is one of my faves from the shoot. The energy with the stillness at the centre. He looks wild and yet so focused and still and intense. Manly and mysterious.

And so beautiful. ❤️
That fierceness he has in that photo is just so intensely sexy, just how mature he is so stunningly handsome. ❤️

I think with this shoot , it was relaxed as well as capturing every part of M , and different parts of his magnetic charm. and It was shown in such a fun yet avant -garde way.
Mm, yes, indeed. I'm gonna go out on a limb here (I'll probably get thrown off the thread, lol). I'm not keen on the photos from the Annie Liebovitz (sp?) photoshoot. I don't generally like her portraits, anyway. But the Michael ones seem especially stilted and, I dunno, just not relaxed. There is no flow to them. With these, I can see the energy flowing, Michael looks much more engaged in the process. They are sexy and somehow kinda formal and yet joyous and free and lighthearted and free-flowing all at once. I think we see so many moods in these shots. Which is basically my longwinded way of saying, I agree with every point you made here!

The pics have a very European look to them which pleases me (I'm in the UK).

MM90 posted some lovely shots the other week of the prep for this photoshoot. They are also awesome. I'll see if I can track them down.

Update - @MacMandy90
re these prep photos that you posted fairly recently, haven't had a chance to look for them yet. Should have said, can you remember when you posted them? Which thread? You can probably find them quicker than me since you posted them. Not to mention Ninja photo-finding skills, lol. Can you remember the ones I mean? There were two, I think. Michael had a short-sleeved t-shirt on and we got a bit over-excited about his muscles and his arms and ... well, just everything. I'm pretty sure they were from this photo shoot.

No probs if you don't have time. I'll be very happy to go hunting for them tomorrow.

Oh no Vanity Fair is sooo beautiful haha I know what you mean though Zinnia, Everyone has their preferences. There are some of Matthew Rolston Ebony photoshoot (Same year ) which I wasn't too into.

But I cannot wait to see MM90 pics !

Found another.

Do you mean these photos? Yeah, I don't love them myself. I just posted one on Manhood the other day cos I just needed a BIG input of mature Michael. But, yeah, mixed feelings about these, for sure. They look ever so airbrushed which I don't like. I'd rather see Michael as he was even if that's not 'perfect' (a debate could be had about what that even means).

I quite like the styling of these even though I think they are overstyled (I do this, I contradict myself all the time. It's my thing, lol).

This photo here, I love his stance, his attitude. And he looks lovely but also too distanced, too removed. I find it harder to connect to these photos. But he looks beautiful and elegant and classy. I don't return to these photos over and over. I'm always pleased to see them when I come across them but I don't seek them out and I usually don't post them, either.

Yes. I think the way...i would say that his, I'd say mild gold suit..it became so stark white when on the front cover - So, the airbrushing played a big part in some of those shots for me, because I've seen that photo quite darkened down and then my opinion is different.
I agree that they did lighten M and his suit alot on that one and that unfortunately took out his expressions.

However, that being said... i do like alot of Rolston work with Michael. haha

like Jets photoshoot.
Lovely deep gold patterned printed jacket - Same year, and i believe same photographer .I really believe M wears this jacket so well.

Hmm, that seems like heaven can wait look, so probably not same shoot, but same era

Exactly. I think, same era but different shoot. This is one of those photos from the shoot where he's singing to Billie Jean and, er, pole dancing. Am I right? I think I am. There's a whole series of shots, like frame-by-frame so you get the sense of him dancing and moving. I love them. I think this photo is one of those although the images that are used don't usually include this one, where he's kicking his leg up in the air.

That one is from the Invincible Album cover inlay. It's by Albert Watson. It is around 1999.

That's it. Thank you so much. Those are the photos I was thinking of. I love his hair, I love that shirt he's wearing, I love the movement in these photos.

wendijane, you must have a PhD in Michael Jackson photoshoots, lol. You seem to know them all. :D
