I just can't get over the fact that it's #3 GLOBALLY. That is amazing!

on the 4th day since release Thriller 40 dropped one place and is now 4th on the worlwide i-tunes-charts and still 3 in Europe..

Michael and Queen both had reissues at the same time, Queen have just seen a resurgence with the biopic and have received nothing but positive praise, the fact that Michael outsold them speaks volumes

Michael is not only competing against other artists. He has also been competing against the system that is so obviously against him.

The fact that he is still one of the best selling artists annually is incredible.

Top 10 is always good.
But I do hope they change strategies and forget about anniversaries. It is better to concentrate on song releases periodically on streaming services accompanied by possible studio footage of said song and interviews with the people who worked on it so we got an idea what it is all about and what MJ's vision was for the track (all for YouTube). This means possible finished versions of the song, demos, extended versions, alternative takes, alternative vocal takes. Just everything. They could stretch this for years if they release a song every 4 months...
Then after a couple of years you could combine those tracks on a physical compilation album for fans.

I don't know how they make money out of that though :p but I guess they earn a lot of money anyway through catalogue sales, airplay, merchandise etc
