How likely is that we will get the following anniversary reissues in the next 10 years?

Invincible needs a re-release with the promotion it didn't get in 2001!
Even if there is no bonuses included i'd be happy about that since Invincible is so underrated.
Maybe just like 3 unheard demos and the short films in HD or 4K + a proper new mixed album.
Just remember the promotion T40 got... If the release Invincible 25th - in 2026, it will be with no promotion at all... :(

Well, a lot can happen in 4 years, in either direction. It seems that things have just started turning around for Michael's legacy. Who knows where we will be after the museum, biopic and other possible projects.

I can see these being released
History 30 2025 , Tour on blu ray / 4k?
Invincible 25
Bad 40
Dangerous 40
TII 20 in 2029 or 25th (for the mainstream this would be a seller if new footage is included. )

I actually believe it's more possible now than it was before. They have a formula to do it and take very little effort as well.

It all starts with just reusing songs from The Ultimate Collection, which just has to be sacrificed. It's kind of a misnomer release, anyway. (It doesn't have every song in his discography but it's the Ultimate? Really. Anyway)

I think long term the Estates plans are to put out certain songs, demoes, and rarities on anniversary rereleases, and put the best, most vocally complete material out on as many posthumous albums as possible.

Bad 40/50, for example, would just include Scared of the Moon and Cheater. Dangerous would include Someone Put Your Hand Out and as much special edition stuff as they could. Invincible would include Shout for sure. (Streetwalker, by Estate logic as well.) And We've Had Enough, Beautiful Girl, etc.

Hot Street is being saved for either a new album or Thriller 50, Nightline definitely is going on Thriller 50.

Other songs like Chicago 1945, Buffalo Bill, and everything that slots in between albums, could potentially make it to regular albums. Since they don't have really much that qualifies as the follow up to Invincible anyway.

HIStory would be the hardest release, but they'll find a way, just by releasing early demoes, the few outtakes that are, and maybe some other song that has no place being there. Probably overlap with Blood on the Dance Floor too.

Once they've exhausted enough songs in that way, eventually a comprehensive box set with every song put out ever, would become the next Ultimate Collection. And the new anthology they could make would include songs that basically aren't complete at all. Basically just sketches. Probably with demoes and alt takes of his classics as well. They could take us from Don't Stop Til You Get Enough to the 2008 Best of Joy.

Ultimately with that formula they could call it a day. It's literally the lowest effort imaginable. Yet they still might not do it. But this is probably how, so bare with it.

HIStory 30 - The Estate did have HIStory 25 planned but it was cancelled due to Covid, I'd say it's the most likely to happen.
Invincible 25 - Forget it lol
Bad 40 - I'm not sure, maybe if Thriller 40 goes well? I would love to see it happening, they could go nuts with Disc 2.
Off The Wall 50 - If all they gave us was chalk on the 30th anniversary then they'll give us something just as lame for the 50th anniversary (if they make one) lol.
Didn't know that, do we know any details about the HIStory reissue? And why do you say "forget it" for Invincible. I would have assumed since darkchild contributed to xscape that he'd be down for a reissue?

Wait Streetwalker was re-recorded again in '01? Or are you referring to when it was included on the 2001 Bad Edition

I think Bad 40/45/50 might include these songs:

Tomboy (Demo)
Someone Put Your Hand Out ('86 Ver)
Crack Kills (Solo If Finished, Maybe Duet)
Unheard Demo
Get Around
Cheater or Streetwalker ('86 or '87 Ver.)
Friend
Apocalypse Now
Scared of The Moon ('84 Ver)
Either Rises, Be Me For a Day, or Get Me Back On

I know this sounds like what every fan wants, but I think it could happen, the more well known outtakes such as HFIST, TYLA, BB, and C45 all sound like tracks that could be on posthumous albums

Didn't know that, do we know any details about the HIStory reissue?
The HIStory tour was supposed to have come out in 2020 in high quality and with unseen angles for HIStory 25 but it didn't happen because of Covid. I don't know if there was gonna have a new disc with unheard demos but one can hope.

There are a few reasons:
1- It's MJ's least famous album and doing a reissue could be a high risk-low reward situation for the Estate.
2- The Estate didn't do anything for Dangerous 25 and 30, so again, why would they do it for MJ's least known album?
3- When Invincible turned 20 last year the Estate said nothing about it, not even on social media.

Friend, Rises, Get Me Back On don't exist and Hot Fun is most likely an Invincible/Post-Invincible song but I agree though, I would love to hear the SPYHO and Streetwalker demos in High-quality.

Yeah, it's been released a couple times over. The latter of what you say.

It has been recorded a few times I think but that's not what I'm talking about.

The invincible reissue rationale does make sense. Makes me sad though, as I've always been a fan of that era and hopefully one day I'll get CGYWOOM in high quality. Thought Cheater was revisited in this era to.

On the MJ website under the FAQ page, the Estate said they had bigger plans for This Is It 10th anniversary which were affected by LN. Guessing there was meant to be additional content/documentary planned. When this was scrapped they released the collectors box with nothing new included. That footage is still in the vault.

This is from the FAQ from the Estate I think postet in 2020

2019/2020: The Estate had a number of plans, including those for the 10th anniversary of the release of This Is It, that were all impacted by the release of Leaving Neverland. Regardless of the fact that it is not truthful and will be exposed for its lies, in the short term, its release made other media companies reluctant, at least temporarily, to license any new Michael Jackson programming. This has already started to pass. And, of course, in 2020 we are all dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic that has resulted in a delay for the opening of MJ the Musical on Broadway, as well as impacting other plans we had for this year.

WHY ISN’T THERE A HISTORY 25 RELEASE? OR A HISTORY CONCERT FILM?
In our opinion this album is Michael’s most underappreciated and one of his very best. Although they were never announced, the Estate had plans to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the HIStory album this year, but because of COVID-19, those plans had to be modified. So, while we still have plans to celebrate HIStory with appropriate audio and audiovisual elements, we don’t believe in making announcements until we are in a position to share all of the relevant details. It is our hope that the world will open up again soon, and allow our creators to finish their work.

______________
The critiques we do receive remind us that we can’t please everyone all the time. We too are Michael fans and we do our best to create projects which we would like to see and hear. The purpose of creating these projects is to enhance Michael’s legacy, to please and excite wherever possible the existing fans, and to introduce Michael to new generations of fans. And rest assured, sooner or later we will get to many of the projects that we know the fans want, including anniversary albums and documentaries for Dangerous and HIStory.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Tomboy (Demo)
Someone Put Your Hand Out ('86 Ver.)
Crack Kills (Solo If Finished, Maybe Duet)
Unheard Demo
Get Around (Demo)
Cheater or Streetwalker ('86 or '87 Ver. My money is on the '86 due to it being more "demo-y")
Deep In The Night (If finished, which I doubt)
Apocalypse Now (Demo)
Scared of The Moon ('84 Ver. cause Estate logic)
Make or Break (If releasable), Turning Me Off (If releasable), or Changes (If releasable)

I would have put Get In To The Groove but I'm not sure if they would have trouble with Madonna or something
I'm not sure how many Bad Era songs we've never heard are in the vault and are releasable for posthumous album(s)

What do You Think of this? Too fiction-y? And Isn't Hot Fun in The Summertime Bad era?
