I don't think the second one is true because Damien described the song as being somber and none of those songs are somber. The third one isn't entirely true either since the verses are also mumbled.
 
Not sure if this was already shared, but will.i.am revealed back in 2021 that “I’m Dreamin’” is a reworked version of “Can’t Wake Up (I’m a Blunt)” by KRS-One (similar to how “A Place with No Name” uses “A Horse with No Name). The chorus goes:

“I’m dreamin’ about being in love
I’m walking around and I cannot wake up
Oh, I’m dreamin’
I’m dreamin’
Yes, I’m falling…”

Listening to the interview, will.i.am never really implies how finished the song is, but he basically confirmed that at least the chorus exists.

Well this explains why he wanted to release this on his own album back in 2013. MJ was the chorus and Will rapped the rest.
 
and the estate knows this and still blocked this song for a release?
i mean a song with MJ on the chorus only isn't the perfect choice for a 'proper' posthumous MJ album anyway.

but years later we got a crappy Drake song with MJ on the chorus (badly filtered vocals).

i doubt we will ever hear this song, because of all this estate vs Will.i.am issue.
 
I don't like the song that it's supposed to be a cover of and if MJ only sings the chorus then I feel like we're not missing much. Surely there are more interesting songs from the 2000's even if they're all unfinished.

I completely support the estate here. will.i.am quite literally said, “I know I spent the last couple years publicly tearing you guys a new one for releasing MJ’s unheard music without his involvement, but I have a new album coming out and I was wondering if I could—what? No? Well, I was never gonna release that stuff anyway! And I’m gonna make sure everyone knows that! Unless his mom asks.”

I wanna hear their stuff as much as the next guy, but will.i.am is a massive hypocrite. If I ran the estate, I’d also tell him to get bent. It’s more for his benefit than MJ’s.
 
The more I think about Matt Forgers statement about Roger Troutman taking the instrumental for Tomboy to be on his own record the more I wonder if this isn't true.

Why wouldn't Roger give any credit to Michael on his album for the song? There's nothing in album credits I could note, except on the 1989 Zapp record "Zapp Vibe", Roger wrote:
"Thanks also to Michael Jackson for giving so many of us that continued hope, and for being the ever-bright shining star; and thanks for allowing me the great privilege of visiting your home and studio. Thanks, Michael, also for honoring my music by putting it on your “bad” Bad album.“

I wonder if Tomboy is just an earlier version of Superfly Sister.

(Regarding Rocker) "The composition is not similar to "We Will Rock You", but the vocal melody and aggressive "spitting" style of vocal delivery in the verses are similar to it. VERY strong vocal. The verses are PURE nonsensical mumbling. The chorus is pretty close to complete. The only issue is that MJ's voice is so loud on chorus that he blows the mic out on certain words

Maybe he was too close to the mic. GREAT demo! Love it. It also has some excellent ad libs and strong "hoo hoo"s at the end."

It means that some parts don't have lyrics, imagine it being like People Of The World/In The Back where MJ sings "da da da de de" in some parts.

I think Adore You, Days In Gloucestershire and Rocker were made in the same session, Brad Buxer said on an interview that Adore You was also made in late 2004.

So “Rocker” isn’t a newer track, it’s from the late 2004 sessions as well. Cross that one off the list of later-in-life MJ tracks, I guess.

I know MJ had a habit of returning to old demos, but it seems like the overwhelming majority of songs he was working on in his final years were previously recorded. Very odd.

I'm shocked why he did not record verses in songs .if rocker in 2004 ..he could do lot lot of songs in 2000s periods why he just mumble

I'm also noticing that the songs that are more recent were all recorded in 2008, none of the songs we are hearing about so far were made in 2006, 2007 or 2009. Maybe around 2006/2007 he was more focused on the sessions with Will.I.Am and Akon?

MJ usually would only lay vocals if he was satisfied enough with the instrumental and that would be extremely relative, mix that with MJ being depressed after the trials and not feeling like recording and with Hold My Hand leaking and making him record vocals only when the instrumental was finished you get a complete lack of releasable songs.

I'm starting to have the impression that the only Post-Invincible song that will be released is I Was The Loser tbh, everything else is either too unfinished or the Estate don't have the permission to release.

There’s one RedOne track that has enough vocals to come out, so long as he and the estate can come to an agreement on how to donate the proceeds to charity. I’m also convinced that will.i.am will eventually give in and release one or tracks.

As for everything else, I think if the estate puts together a box set akin to The Ultimate Collection, they could easily release the unfinished demos. Hell, call it HIStory in the Making and only include demos of previously-released songs and new tracks.

I’ll take a check, Branca.

Will.I.Am has had a clear stance in the last 10 or so years that he'll never release the songs, I also doubt that he'll change his mind again after the Estate didn't allow him to release I'm Dreaming.

I would love for that to happen but I don't think it will, take a look at Hot Fun In The Summertime for example; the song is an unfinished cover with only a verse and a chorus and they decided to remix it and call in 2 singers to fill the missing vocals. I think that's what will happen to other unfinished songs in the vault, after all why clear the vault all at once rather make as much money from it as possible? Think of it from a business standpoint.

I fully expect the estate to scrape whatever they can together even if it means calling in totally unrelated people to finish stuff.
