sorry @zinniabooklover
edit pin believes it is real ignore me lol sorry haha
I know. That just added to my confusion.

Looks very photoshopped, but I'm not sure
Thanks for your input, though. Much appreciated. You are so much better at this than I am.

You know what, girls? I think I'll leave it, put in a little statement to say we think it *might* be fan art but we're not sure. Pin thinks it's legit.

I love seeing all the beautiful photos of Lisa and all the kind words. It's really sad that Lisa passed away but at least she's with her dad, son and MJ. I saw this one Twitter from Jeff and the Showgram. It's a radio show based in San Diego, CA
I love these little unexpected stories that come in from all over. I'm glad this one had a translation. :)

She could easily have been an airhead, ditzy I'm-just-going-to-be-famous-for-being-famous type of person. But she was too cool for that. Very sharp, very intelligent, very articulate. I just find her to be so interesting.

Perfect way to deal with this, zin

All of this . Very articulate . So much depth to Lisa and an edge. Unique. All these traits and a wonderful mother.

Interview by Ken Sharp for Goldmine magazine, published Jan 14 2023. The interview was done at the time that Storm and Grace was released but apparently was never published. Not sure why. It's awesome, imo. I loved it. It's a decent length. I think it's the best one I've read.

Just picked this out from one of the pieces posted by @Paris78.

On June 25, 2009, Lisa Marie Presley was in England having what she calls "the strangest day of my life."

Despite the seemingly routine tasks of the day—she went to work in the studio before coming home for dinner—Lisa Marie spent the entire day in tears and couldn't understand why. "I was literally cutting my food, eating my dinner crying," she recalls.

Later that evening, in an effort to stop crying, Lisa Marie went upstairs and crawled into bed to watch something mindless on television. An hour later, she got a text from her friend John Travolta that sent shock waves through her body.

Lisa Marie's ex-husband Michael Jackson had died.

The tears stopped as shock set in. "I was floored," she says. "Honestly floored."

This is interesting, heartbreaking, weird. I didn't know about this. There she was, 3,000 miles away in the UK and yet she felt the energy change - or something.
I remember her talking about this in that Oprah interview and it always just... stuck out to me. Still does.

I hate to be one of those "getting into someone's music/films/etc after they died" types once again, but I am finding myself curious about Lisa's music. I've heard the duet version of In the Ghetto with her and her dad and her cover of Dirty Laundry and thought those were alright. Was a long time ago, though. Anyone have suggestions on where to start?

There are some awesome quotes from this . (im halfway through)

"We’ve all pioneered different roads. My father had a huge road in the 1950s, it was very conservative and he shook everything up. That was a cross to bear and pissed a lot of people off and made a lot of people happy all at the same time. (laughs) And my Mom has her own thing where she was a very young girl and was presented an opportunity where I don’t think many women have crossed or walked. And me, I am who I am and I’m doing my own music in my own way and developing my own fan base and going against what people probably think I should do and what I should or shouldn’t be."

" Someone who sings with their heart and strength is gonna resonate with me. "
- Lisa Marie Presley

💘I love it. thanx @zinniabooklover

The two that got me started were Don't Cry Daddy and Nobody Noticed It. They're both upthread. There's also a fabulous live version of Sticks and Stones, also upthread. Sorry to be recommending stuff I've posted but I haven't heard *loads* of stuff by her. I'm getting through it at a steady pace. wendi's posted loads of her songs on here plus some live stuff.

I would say her music is slightly uneven. For me, she was a work in progress but a really good one. She has got a proper voice, proper talent. She does great lyrics, really fierce. Quite harsh but she has a lot to say, a lot to process. I think she was a really interesting artist. And she was a proper artist, imo. She was the real deal.

"People are either gonna gun for you or root for you heavily. It’s not gonna be anything in the middle. "

"You just have to hope the scales don’t tip. You can get your foot in the door but you cannot stay in the room if you can’t hold yourself up."

"One of my first shows was the Jackson 5. They used to play down the road in Vegas."

" I loved Freddie. I thought Queen were awesome. I’m a big fan of theatrics. I brought Freddie a gift, one of my father’s scarves and I gave it to him backstage. He was very happy."

IKR! The whole interview is full of awesome quotes. I didn't dare allow myself to quote any or I'd have ended up quoting the entire piece, lol. I felt I learnt a lot from this interview. All of these quotes you've highlighted, love them.

Such a beautiful post , she was an artist in her own right. She had three albums which are :To whom it may concern - 2003.
Now What. - 2005 . Storm & Grace - 2012.

Personally .. I love Now What. because everything within that album just resonates with me, but would recommend listening to the whole of her catalogue. Indeed It is short but its worth it @Amaya . Storm & Grace the title track is a very emotional , piece of art. Definitely take a look as the lyrics are breathtakingly beautiful.

Well she wrote or co-wrote most of the songs so they are all about her life. Personally, I like the last album the best but there are good songs on each of them. It kinda depends on what you like. I'd listen to snippets of each song because you might like it.

From To Whom it May Concern I like The Road Between and Lights Out
From Now What I like Dirty Laundry and Idiot

The first record you could tell the record company was trying to mold her into something she wasn't. The songs weren't 100% her IMO and that was evident.

Storm and Grace was generally well received. I remember one magazine saying it was a moody masterpiece. That's a perfect description IMO. Lisa admitted that her music is usually dark, sad or angry. She said she didn't write from a happy place. And the music from S&G reflects that.

From S&G I like How Do You Fly This Plane, I Was Wrong, Storm and Grace, Soften the Blows and Just a Dream. I like the lyrics to Over Me a lot but I don't care much for the music.

Just a Dream is on here. It was posted twice as Different videos, Again , lyrics.

Take a look.

People , another .
