Most fans prefer the BWT (for solo tours). I prefer the DWT, still amazing vocals and better sets and effects imo. But most fans I see despise the DWT and HWT, and talk about BWT's vocals as if MJ couldn't sing anymore. There's reasons he didnt sing in the DWT. Not because he couldn't sing but because singing live so much killed his voice. And even at 50 his voice was still there, so idk what these people are on. But I don't like how they despise everything and call the other tours bad because he lipsynced.

I love the Dangerous world tour and i don't feel bad about it.
It's just that the fans I described make me feel bad, I have a weird hatred to the BWT due to that. To me, the Dangerous era is part of MJ's peak (many people agree) but those fans I described despise the DWT, and to me the BWT is too early in MJ's solo career to be the only good thing he did, basically, I hate the idea of MJ not doing good tours after that. But I see many fans like this and it genuinly makes me sad.

You shouldn’t feel bad about this. DWT was awesome and Bucharest is my favorite MJ concert to watch.

I know I shouldn't, but the DWT and HWT are overhated, like MJ could sing amazingly during the DWT, I think if he did the same amount of live singing he would not be able to still sing that good at 50.

Dangerous world tour was brilliant, I've not seen much hate for it? I'm actually a little surprised you think there is?

His dancing was even better and cooler than on the BAD tour, he still sang a lot of the tracks live. His entrance to the stage was absolutely electrifying.

It's the History tour that people don't like simply due to how much he lip synched and rightly so, it was a disgrace looking back on it.

That OTW medley still boils my blood and I wasn't even there 😂

I think it's not necessarily hate but it's that every time I talk about how amazing the DWT is, they go "oh BWT better" like YES I GET IT POPULAR OPINION. I think the DWT was peak MJ, better effects and dances than the BWT, and still amazing live vocals. I think MJ wanted to go back to that formula for This is it. More live parts than HWT and amazing dances.

Tbh I would say that the BAD tour is more iconic due to it being MJ's first solo tour and the hype all over the world that he was performing in their country.

The 5 nights sold out Wembley record , playing at Aintree racecourse to 125 thousand people etc and 'michael mania'

Dangerous was an even bigger tour but obviously got cut short due to the allegations :(

That may be a reason why fans don't prefer it. I don't know what would have happened without the allegations, but I hope they'd do a US leg of the tour. That would've made it Bad tour like. But it's still amazing

I haven’t seen this so called hate for the dangerous tour at all. Sure some people wished he sung a bit more but the Dangerous Tour is very high regarded. He still sung over 70% on that tour and his energy was still off the charts.

& his wardrobe was unforgettable and presentation was amazing. Best he ever looked?...

Even though I prefer the Bad tour there are still things from the Dangerous tour which I enjoy watching like the performances of Billie Jean, MITM and Jam and MJ added a few new moves
Thank you for saying that

I went to BWT, DWT and HWT. You have to understand that at the time of BWT, MJ was an icon for almost everyone and became also a 'hunk' for girls (more so than during Thriller), boys thought he was 'bad'/cool, his dancing was less choreographed than the later shows but there was way more stamina and power in it, same for the singing. I think live singing is very important to create a connection with the audience.

MJ was at the height of his fame during DWT but not at the height of his popularity; he had became a bit too old, his looks become a bit too odd (even if he couldn't help it) to be a poster boy for (most) young girls. The black folks thought he was too white, Heal The World was too saccherine (people continously made fun of it) and a lot of young boys were now into gangsta rap and didn't care too much for the rap parts on Dangerous. Also the outfits for BWT were more popular, almost no one liked the leotard on DWT.

The opening for DWT is the most iconic but the opening for BWT was almost as thrilling too. Overall the DWT show was better but in terms of MJ himself BWT is just way better.

And to make it even more of a debate.. aside from the show, MJ himself was most magical during the Victory Tour imo

DWT is amazing. - Especially the dates where fx BAD, Dangerous, TWYMMF and MITM was performed.

DWT had a fine balance between live singing and playback - but I really feel it's a shame Heal the World was playback.

Bad Tour was more about the performance maybe, but Dangerous Tour was about the spectacle.

My Dad took my mum (she was a huge MJ fan) to Wembley in 92, he's not even that much of a fan and he still talks about it being the best concert he's ever seen.

I haven't seen many disliking Dangerous Tour. Its not good as Bad Tour but its still great. I think Michael's performance was better on Bad Tour. You could say that dancing was even better later but I still prefer how he performed on Bad Tour. Setlist is also better.

I know what you mean, I feel the same way. I still love to watch Bad tour, but it's my least favorite tour

BWT is the best to me in terms of performance for he still had the raw energy and moves of his 80s phase, much like Victory.
However, DWT is a great tour and I love it as well, especially the first 8 shows and the Tokyo ones with the full setlist.

BWT flows better than Dangerous for me as the setlist feels more cohesive. Don't get me wrong, but one of MJs dumbest ideas was to keep WDAN on Dangerous, it doesn't fit the setlist at all. One of the Dangerous songs should have been picked instead (RTT, GITM, ITC).

I absolutely love DWT, its my favourite. My love for DWT exceeds my love for HWT and it far exceeds my love for BWT. So no need to feel bad. I think it had a perfect mix of spectacle and performance. In terms of energy, Michael is radiating more mature energy than the raw energy of a 29 year old.

Interesting view, I generally agree

Same, I feel like the DWT is like the finished product with the right balance where MJ learned that he had to save his voice too and he did more dancing. To me BWT feels more like fan service and DWT like the full-fledged spectacle

This is a phenomenal response and exactly the way I see it too. 100% spot on with everything you have described.

You lived through this period and witnessed the change in the general public's view of MJ.

He was untouchable during the BAD World Tour and universally loved where it was more about the music and the showmanship rather than the 'wacko Jacko' (hate using that term) persona and lack of respect from the 90s onwards.

Fantastic post.

He was still extremely popular during the 90s though right ?
