What unreleased songs have a chance to be #1 hits if they were officially released?

There are a lot of song on Dangerous that could have been number ones if they had the right promotion
Give in To Me and Who Is It were both fumbled hard, actually. Michael's worst mistake with promotion imo. Which could be its own thread actually. That and Another Part of Me being the 6th single and Smooth Criminal being 7th.

None. Because there will never be enought promotion for one song or album again to move things high enough into public consciousness to get a no.1. Unless theres some unexpected publicity for whatever reason.

Actually the MJ & Justin Bieber "duet" would be the best shot to get a good chart position...
because its polarizing making people talk about it... and the song is good too. Even with Bieber on it. Still a No.1 (Pop sales chart) is unlikely.
Absolutely not. Bieber did it without permission, it was leaked online and got shit on by every body. Not to mention it was pure trash to begin with. Bieber can go back to Canada for all I care. No talent whatsoever.

Songs like Break Of Dawn or Whatever Happens that still sound fresh to this day need to be put on radio and heavily promoted.

Why don't you understand popularity and quality are not mutually exclusive. The kids loved Bieber (still do) and Bieber gets number 1s. Regardless of what you think about him, which, probably is based off whatever you saw in 2015.

Not all "kids" like Bieber. I have 4 daughters, 3 that are teens, 1 that's going to be a teen in October. They all think he sucks.

Just because a song hits number 1, doesn't make it a good song. Michael has had a few duds himself...just like he's had great songs that for whatever reason never got the time of day on the charts when they should have and would have been bigger and better hits then what he did get released.

Bieber putting his own vocals on Slave To The Rhythm, and then lying about it saying it was happening, only for Sony and the estate to give him a cease and desist letter after he leaked it online speaks volumes...especially like I said earlier, everyone who heard it, hated it...where as people like Queen or Barry Gibb, who had music they did with Michael, actually got permission before hand, and were allowed to do so...and in the end the people loved it.

I'll take quality over a lousy "number 1" song by the "hottest it" star any day.

Well, kids aren't a monolith. There's plenty that do,and more importantly plenty that don't care one way or the other. Which is the easiest way to be in life. If you don't have anything nice to say and all that.

Popularity and Quality are not Mutually Exclusive. We are talking about Number 1s, not the next Billie Jean.

There's plenty of singles that didn't get their chart attention. Lots of MJs songs deserve #1 but didn't get it, mostly due to technicalities. Who Is It for starters. Give In to Me wasn't even a US single. We can quibble about that all day. You're probably just talking about "better songs left off Invincible" though?

Just reminds me of Henry Cavill being strung along as Superman. Can't blame for enthusiasm.

If You Don't Love Me sounds like a classic hit.
Maybe a bit repetitive, that's why I'd cut it down to 3:00 minutes.
