I just realised, @bluemoon7 's film was done in 1973, The Slipper and The Rose was 1976 and @hope 's Russian animation is from 1979, iirc. Don't know why but I'm really excited by that. All of these different - and awesome - versions all coming out in the same decade.

idk. Me, I def identify with Annette Crosbie as fairy godmother - overworked and a bit tetchy, lol. But I love the sparkly Russian fairy godmother, also.

Now that really is a tricky question. A simpler, traditional version or one with more layers? I mean, just to be clear, I'm no writer so my contribution will be minimal at best, most likely non-existent, actually. But, still, these are important considerations.I need to know the plot

god, no, that doesn't appeal at all. That is so not me. Def not if you all decide to go for Disney Cinderella bc that is my least fave version - sorry, mj777! - but, also, it's just not my vibe.

Also, strictly speaking, I think @hope started it. She posted a short version the animation and I watched it and got completely over-excited. I'm pretty sure that's how it panned out.
Anyway, that vibe I was thinking of ...

Yes. Same. @zinniabooklover I wonder if they (every country's version ) were trying to put out a universal message ? or was it put out/pushed out by [possible] powers that be, for confrontation/ conflict ? It has many ways we can think about it zin i think.
