“Coal digger” is a derogatory term used to refer to someone who is of low social status.![]()

That's all fascinating. But I still have never heard it being used, ever, or know of it being used in this particular way.)))) was looking for it in English. So in Russian, Google offered me valuable information about activated coal and the peculiarities of coal mining))))
Well, women are sometimes accused of being 'gold diggers'. The meaning there is obvious. But 'coal digger' in any context, let alone as putting someone in their place re the social hierarchy? Never heard of it. The UK is still horribly class driven and probably always will be. We still have 1st and 2nd class postage, lol.I realized that it's about relationships. It's not quite clear whether it's about friendship or romance....
Aha! There you go. Pop culture. Know nothing about it.@hope
the phrase "we dug coal together" btw Raylan Givens & Boyd Crowder was kinda a running gag throughout the series
Are you inside my head, missy?
yesIs this an American series?
