It's tricky bc I do have some sympathy for you. Incorrect spelling or grammar does make me wince, ngl. I wouldn't personally go in and correct someone bc it seems a bit rude to me. So I can see both sides of the story. What I really struggle with is crap writing in, say, journalism. And, sure, if people get away with inaccurate usage on a msg board, don't be surprised if it turns up in their journalism. But I still see the two things as quite different, really. I used to have a collection of incorrectly used words - mostly from novels, actually, but some from journalism. But I dumped it bc it was sending me mad. The inaccuracies were so ... actually, I can't even ... let's just say I was
