Rare: Playback for Black or White fails, and Michael sings the whole song live

That Bahamas one was forced upon him, you can tell he doesn't want to sing it but has been put on the spot.

I bet he got anxious knowing he was gonna have to do it live, shame there's no complete performance of it.

This goes for anyone reading this thread, let's say his health isn't shit. What would your tracklist be for a completely live concert without any playback?

Well anything as long as it is live. But one day in your life needs to be in it and be not always, music and me, someone in the dark, don't stop till you get enough, time waits for no one etc

I think the real problem was Michael forgot the words to his songs. He didn't exactly write them down after all.

But then why not a teleprompter?

Teleprompters did not start being used regularly at live concerts until the late 2000s / early 2010s. Nowadays, every big singer/band has one or more teleprompters on stage. The only time Michael used an autocue was during the rehearsals for This Is It, and it’s pretty much a given that he was going to use one during the concerts as well.

Is this your opinion or based on facts? Just curious.

Well there you go. That's the truth of it then.

My opinion but most likely to be accurate.

I mean he looks shocked to be handed the microphone and is reluctant to take it before having to just go with it.

I remember this now, it's great to hear live vocals, Munich and London 92 contain fully live vocals too. I think on the 93 leg Mike went up on the cherry picker for Black Or White as well didn't he?

This is really frustrating. You mean you could have sung this live the whole time?! I get it being lip synced on the HIStory Tour cause his voice wasn't in very good shape at that time, but on the Dangeorus Tour there was no excuse.

Rare in the sense that he rarely sang live the 'Heal The World' song.

As a matter of fact, he sang it live (in front of an audience) only at that Bahamas event.
i'm pretty sure i can hear his live singing on Clinton inauguration gala 1993. i wonder if audience heard that mic feed as well🤔

Why is nobody else picking up on the fact that the heal the world performance was impromptu?

Look how uncomfortable he is to receive the live mic and is trying to act all shy (oh no don't pass it to me)

Was it a big misunderstanding? Was MJ expecting it to be a sing a long with everyone.
