Thriller 40th Anniversary

there’s already an entire ongoing series called ‘stories in the room’, which covers the technical aspects of the album. it’s hosted by one of the engineers anthony marinelli, and he interviews many of the people involved with the original album (except quincy). there’s even a whole thread on this board about the series. they’re on all social media platforms. how many of you actually watch that?

I'm only watching this cause of the HD Victory Tour footage. And that's it. Hope it's there's a good amount of it.
And this is all most people will say, even if it was 5 hours of literal behind the scenes studio footage and 3 minutes of concert.

From what I recall I think the Brooke segment is archival footage / interview not something new
Brooke was a talking head if I recall correctly. Polo G was only in hear to say that he sampled smooth criminal in his song which has nothing to with Thriller lol. The tiktok thing was also kind of embarrassing. I liked the footage though, but they also totally skipped 1 or 2 songs which I found strange.

No Quincy… 😔
Quincy almost certainly refused to participate.

See, this is so weird. When your doc is barely an hour and a half long, you shouldn’t waste a second on anything other than the album. I have no idea what Nelson is doing here. (Emphasis on Nelson. The director. The person who organized and edited the documentary. The person in charge. Estate blaming here is so nonsensical and lazy. Studio interference finger pointing only goes so far.)

What was the source of that other 4K footage of beat it that surfaced before Thriller 40 last year

It won't happen since the Estate doesn't own this footage, Universal/Motown does. It's from the special, so technically they own it.
Well if that's the case...why didn't motown show it on the special? I've heard that the estate blocked it

If that was the case, the Estate has the rights over MJs image and likeness and could block Star Vista Entertainment (who produced the 2014 box set), but they don't own the footage. So yeah, they can block it, but they can't use it themselves since they don't own the footage.

Anybody ever notice this guy fall down at around 10:14 🤣🤣🤣 I've never noticed that until today

Why it took so long to bring out this documentary will never be understood but December 2nd I feast. My paramount and showtime is ready

Notice 9:13 the female zombie in purple doesn’t jump with the rest of them…….and when Ola runs to the house and closes the door, the next scene shows her running up the stairs again

I knew about the scene where she runs to the house. I noticed that in 2017 at the movies but I NEVER noticed she didn't jump🤣
