Latest on MJJC

"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

This is the most optimistic I’ve been for an MJ project in years. Soundtracks for these types of films have evolved in recent times and also Prince Jackson said in the MJ Las Vegas Event that they are looking over unreleased music for the movie. I take that as a good sign that they are at least aware of things.

I’d be very surprised if they release a basic run of the mill hits album alongside this big budget modern epic film. It would seem very at odds with all of the other recent soundtrack albums for similar type films.

It remains to be seen I guess.
 
Sorry but there will not be DS or best of joy in the film (Soundtrack). Be realistic and think out of the bubble ;)

Jaafar is literally a member of Michael's family. At least have some shred of respect for him and what he is contributing for Michael and his legacy. He is more than happy to pay tribute to his uncle in this performance, a tribute made out of love and respect. Jaafar has also known Michael personally. You never have. So who are you to even dictate how he should pay tribute to or portray his uncle??

If you're not a fan of how Jaafar looks as Michael, that's fine. If you don't like the idea of a biopic at all, that's fine. Biopics in general can be pretty divisive. Even I'm personally not a fan of most of them. But stop coming back and forth to users in this thread shitting on them and insulting them for sharing their excitement over this biopic. Stop making others feel like they're brainless or "clowns" for praising Jaafar's efforts to portray his uncle with grace. Especially in a thread SPECIFICALLY ABOUT THE BIOPIC.

I think we need to wait and see the film first to be able to give an honest opinion. For now none of us have seen anything, except a few small videos. The intention of the producers is good and the project is difficult, but at the point it is now there isn't much to say.

I'm afraid as a soundtrack it will be a best of album again, don't expect anything from estate
 
Michael was so special that he has 2 different greatest hits albums with practically the same content selling over 10 million so the Estate won’t hesitate putting out another one

I'm sorry but leaving out DS from the movie would be a crime in my opinion!! It should definitely be included and it should be explicitely explained it's about Thomas Sneddon and why!!

I 100% agree. I know many people may think the estate won’t do this, but I do think it will be a double disc album with remaster/re-mixing of OG songs, remixes, live versions, and unreleased songs. It is pretty much confirmed with DJ Khaled doing remixes (I do not approve of this), one of the original engineers for MJ was confirmed to have been re-mixing some of the songs for the soundtrack, live versions from one of the leaked rehearsals (Heartbreak Hotel), and unreleased songs from what Prince talked about.

It'll likely just be hit songs, imo. Maybe we'll get some instrumental stuff in the background during the film that'll be lesser known stuff, something like that.

I was just thinking... we don't know who's playing Janet, but there's another nagging question... is no one playing Prince? The singer.
