Does anyone know? I’ve been trying to find it but i’m not sure is there a final setlist.

The question is whether we will ever see any other hours of rehearsal material than the film

I thought it was on Wikipedia...
Just checked and it's currently removed. Basically, it was added, removed, added again and removed again, literally dozens of times between 2018 and 2022. Just go back and look at one of the earlier versions.

Really, the reason the film is so heavily edited and overdubbed is simply because that's the best/only footage they had. But really, the film is what should have been the DVD extras on an actual live concert recording.

Imagine if we got a TII film but for the Dangerous tour, and it was included on the Bucharest DVD release. That's what lots of other artists are doing as a routine, and why their DVDs are more successful than Bucharest and Wembley.

The confirmed songs were

1. Wanna Be Starting Something
2. Jam
3. The Drill Interlude (with elements of Mind is the Magic)
4. They Don't Care About Us
5. Human Nature
6. Smooth Criminal
7. Earth Song
8. Black or White
9. J5 medley (I Want You Back, The Love You Save and I'll Be There)
10. Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground) Interlude
11. Thriller (with elements of Threatened)
12. Beat It
13. Billie Jean
14. Dangerous (rehearsal audio and footage exists)
15. I Just Can't Stop Loving You
16. Man in the Mirror

Mostly just what you saw in the film. I heard that "Stranger in Moscow" would replace "Human Nature" on some nights, but I dunno if that was confirmed. "Heal the World" was also said to be planned, but I dunno about that, either.

I'm also not sure if MJ was ever gonna sing a part of "Speechless". He sings it in the film but only as a vocal warmup, iirc.

What you see in the film is the setlist.

Not every rehearsed song in the setlist was in the film, like "Dangerous".

Was Dangerous actually rehearsed or was it just an idea?

Iirc there wasn't a "final setlist".

There are a few photos that were posted here of work in progress ones. (I wasn't able to find them, hopefully someone else can post).

He rehearsed it. There are a few seconds of footage from one of the trailers and some photos of it in the This Is It photo booklet that came with the CD album. It was apparently a very basic rehearsal though and that's why it wasn't included.

2:54 in this video there's some footage.

Are we sure that’s footage? Not ruling it out but that spin and pose looks reminiscent to the spin and pose he usually does at the break of WBSS live

Sony have a lot of footage incl Dangerous Dirty Diana Rock With You. I think many years ago they said they are saving a lot for anniversary editions of the movie.

Check his other solo tours as he always did the same numbers and routines anyway
This is true tbf . MJ as amazing as he was. Every tour was pretty much the same , what i mean is BAD tour 88 was straight down the line song order and all apart from the start and finish. There was never anything random thrown in. Even the adlibs that he would do in IJCLY were the same . Heartbreak Hotel another example the start of the song with the doggone lover part. It would be nice to see something thrown in like Liberian Girl or even just a few lines from it. In terms of dancing he could be very spontaneous but as a live singer. Not so much .

Michael Prince was interviewed for the MJCast - Episode 52. He had a copy of the final setlist.

"I might have the file setlist... Here, "MJ UK Master"... It says "6/25/09", let's open that one up. Yeah, we were gonna start with "Startin' Something", and then "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough"...

MJCast: Michael was going to perform that song in full in the show?

Prince: Well, I wanna say "full", but it might've been an abbreviated version. A lot of these songs we were maybe gonna do like one verse and a chorus and a dance section and a chorus, rather than do the entire song... and then "Rock With You", and then we were going to "Drill". "Drill" is that opening section to "They Don't Care About Us"... "Drill", and into an abbreviated version of "They Don't Care About Us", and then "Human Nature", and then "Stranger in Moscow", and then "Smooth Criminal", and then "The Way You Make Me Feel"--the slow version, much like it is in the film, if I remember correctly--and then "You Are Not Alone"... then [next to "You Are Not Alone"] it says "DNU" which means "Do Not Use", so it might have been one that I had programmed and then we decided it was gonna be in the set, so don't quote me on that-- and then "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", and then "Dangerous", and then "Dirty Diana", and then "Beat It", and then "Thriller", which was gonna have that cool ending on it, you know
the [hums instrumental of "Threatened"]... I love that part. And then "Earth Song", and then--oh yeah, this was the big thing, it was "We Are the World and "Heal the World", getting those two songs married to each other, and then "Black or White", and then "Billie Jean", and then "Will
You Be There" and it says, "DNU", so maybe, as of the 25th of June, we were not doing that song. 'Cause some of them, we learned more songs than we could actually fit into the show. And then "Man in the Mirror", which as far as I know--yeah, "Man in the Mirror" was gonna be
the encore, the final song. And that's it."

We don't have an accurate final setlist.

As noted above there were songs rehearsed that didn't make the cut for the This Is It film, and we have a handful of other artists who confirmed they were going to perform with MJ in the O2 and we don't know what those songs are.

Yeah, wasn't Dirty Diana shown on the BD? It's been a couple of years since I watched it.

I don't believe they would ever say something about saving for an anniversary though.

Exactly. He had no connection to the audience. It gets boring to hear "I love yoooouuu" at the same point in every concert.

Imagine if he had tailored the set list each night according to the date or location.

Example: Ben was #1 in Australia. A Brand New Day was #1 in Holland. One Day in Your Life was #1 in the UK. Leave Me Alone was #1 in Spain. Give In to Me was #1 in New Zealand. You Rock My World was #1 in France. Imagine if he actually took notice of what the fans were buying. Could even do the same thing with obscure J5 songs like Show You the Way to Go.

Imagine he played a Beatles song when he was in Liverpool, or an Elvis song when it was the anniversary of his death, or something like that. Literally every other band on the planet does exactly this. A Christmas song in December... The list goes on and on.

The 30th Anniversary of Nevermind, they include four separate concerts from the Nevermind tour. The reason they can do this is because they're different.

Sony did say they didn't want to show unseen footage during the trial because it still had value and they wanted to use it at some point, I recall anniversary editions being specified but not 100 percent sure.

Also, MJ's rehearsal of DD wasn't on the blu ray (apart from like 2 seconds of footage in the unfinished rehearsals feature). I think he only did a basic run through of the song to get an idea of what the staging etc would be like.

There would have been some rotations, HN exchanged for SIM for example.

The rehearsal performances share by Sugarfoot are great. You get SIM, YANA, WYBT.

This is it would have had more rotations than any of his other tours which were static.

I'd hoped both SIM and HN were in the set list, two of my favourite live songs and I'd be disappointed if Human Nature hadn't been performed

I'd rather have both HN and SIM rather than IJCSLY for instances

This is correct I believe back in 2011 Sony during the Murray trial wanted the unreleased footage saved for future editions

From what I've seen my guess is that the final setlist could have looked like this

1. Wanna Be Startin Somethin
2. Jam
3. The Drill / They Don't Care About Us
4. Human Nature (Sometimes replaced with Stranger In Moscow)
5. Smooth Criminal
6. The Way You Make Me Feel
7. Jackson 5 Medley
8. Rock With You / Don't Stop Til You Get Enough
9. I Just Can't Stop Loving You
10. Dangerous
11. Black Or White / Dirty Diana
12. Beat It
13. Thriller
14. Earth Song
15. Heal The World
16. You Are Not Alone
17. Billie Jean
18. Will You Be There
19. Man In The Mirror
