Latest on MJJC

"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

So supposedly a short video of clips from the movie has leaked on X. Unsure whether the clips are legit or not.

I'm kind of hoping they do something proper for HIStory 30 in order to make up for the delay, it is supposed to be coming out shortly after the biopic's original release date after all. Instead of just throwing in a standard re-issue with some cheap looking merchandises they could give it a disc 2 that includes a couple of unheard songs and the Hayvenhurst demos of some of the songs on the album. A documentary along with it would be nice also.

Though this is already a topic for another thread entirely lol.

I support and don't understand this behavior.
It does not mean that we have a bad memory like a fish.
I also remember all those hypocrites and their bad sayings. La Toya is one of them and I don't care if her husband forced her to say what she said or not. By and large, almost none of them were his true friends, they were all always concerned about money and fame, so I didn’t care about all their troubles. Exceptions: his mother, several brothers (including Tito), Janet, children and a few other people who, no matter what, never turned their backs on him and always said only good things

A biopic is not made for fans but for the general public. Probably most fans will cringe with every scene knowing the real MJ and his story so well
 
Slightly off topic but possible connection. It was announced today stranger things last season will take place in the fall of 1987. Cross promotion dream with the biopic? The last season will premiere in 2025 so the timing is ideal... One can dream (or apply to work in marketing for the estate)

Only thing we might get is a track from Bad being featured in that season as it takes place the same year as the album's release.

That's basically what I meant to say. Combined with the biopic it could have a "running up the hill" effect on a specific Bad track

Originally meant to be released on April 18th of 2025, Lionsgate has announced they are moving it back to October 3, 2025.
It is believed they are moving the biopic back to give it a better shot for awards.
Universal Pictures has also began promoting the biopic in China, showcasing it to theater managers and key players in major Chinese film industry. The Chinese market is massive, if the biopic is already being focused on globally this much right now, the release should be huge.

If the estate doesn't charge a king's ransom for music rights we could feasibly get MJ in the trailer. It's been stated by the directors that the absurdly high Fee was the only reason they were hesitant on using MJ's music

Well there are whispers that netflix may have a mj docuseries coming out soon.
