What does it mean when a guy says "I'm not like other guys"?

Answer (1 of 14): Talk is cheap, only your actions determine your character and honour or lack of, “I'm not like other guys” means he's just like every other guy, believe that until proven otherwise by deed.

In a way, he repeated these words a few years later:
They say I'm different, they don't understand
But there's a bigger problem that's much more in demand
 
Can't quite locate that reference in my memory, but from what you have quoted that sounds like a different message altogether. It sounds more to do with how the press/world criticised him for being 'different' as opposed to him saying he was 'different'.
What are your thoughts on what was meant by these references?

I would say that in WYWTOM he doesn't deny that he's different. He says there are more important things than the question of his personality.
 
Something I always thought was a missed opportunity. When MJ wakes Ola up from her nightmare they both should have been wearing the same clothes they had on at the start of the short film (MJ's Letterman Jacket and Ola's pink/blue dress). That would really make it feel like everything was stuck on a continious loop.
