MJ Fans!!! Let's Show Support & Compassion for Katy Perry (Who Is Under Horrific Attack)

Very long article, but it explains everything:

Kesha first made allegations in 2005 (allegations she apologized to Dr. Luke for).

Kesha went back to Dr. Luke in 2008 and testified to Dr. Luke's innocence in 2011.

Apparently, it's during the production of the Warrior album that things turned sour. Apparently, both Kesha and Pebe (Kesha's mother, also a songwriter) felt they lacked creative freedom, and they wanted more royalties. And Pebe threatened to expose "the truth" in an email. By their own admission, they were both okay with working w/ a (supposed) rapist until their terms weren't met...

The more I look into this case, the more it mirrors the Robson & Safechuck case against Jackson to me. This is honestly how I feel, and this is why it is unfair for Katy Perry to be so attacked for working w/ Dr. Luke again. Esp. since he's likely innocent and others have been working w/ him these past years.

I came in here ready to hate, and I left feeling somewhat sorry for her. Perhaps she’s done herself no favours recently, but human beings sure love to tear people down. There is an unhealthy amount of videos on YouTube -a lot of them middle aged men- clasping their hands and smacking their lips with glee because this woman is caught in a loop. I’m not a major fan or anything, but I’ve been there when my fave has been torn to shreds and it’s horrible.

Thanks to the poster. As I said, I came in ready to gloat but some of your points and the Variety articles have reminded me of how cruel society can be. Thanks for sharing.

Thx for your input. I saw some of those thumbnails on YouTube (videos by SLOAN, Benny Johnson and others). I won't even click on them. Thank G*D Katy Perry exists to give them views and make them sleep better at night... They're so pathetic and rotten for doing this.

Remember how some of Michael Jackson's aesthetics were robotic/futuristic/space-themed? Perry has always wanted to go to space, and her current Lifetimes Tour is space-themed. Why more emphasis on her participation? I still fail to see the big problem w/ that trip.

As for the actual merit of Perry's music, I sincerely ask myself how can someone listen to Witness, Smile or 143 in full at least once (paying attention to vocal melodies, lyrics, overall production, vocal ability, musicality/instrumentation) and declare that all those albums are meritless, subpar or whatever.

In any case, Katy Perry's numbers are now getting higher on Spotify: she's currently #26 in the world w/ 64M monthly listeners. Hope she keeps ascending as success (and happiness) is the best revenge.

What if everybody stopped working w/ Michael Jackson as those allegations kept pouring? Would it have been fair?

From @Snshores:
Shaming artists for working with Dr. Luke would hit a lot harder if he were actually proven guilty, not if we’re just relying on the word of someone who dragged a woman into a rape fantasy she made up to get out of a contract, and got mad when she didn’t go along with it.

Also... The accusations of "Katy Perry stealing lands from elderly people" are complete disinformation.

From @littlebigjuicy:

Its getting old and it was their own fault. 1- the man put the house on sale had an open house had an auction had lawyers to make papers didnt even consult his children who clearly didnt care and backed out once the papers were signed and the purchase went thru LEGALLY.

2- the house officially belonged to the church that the nuns were living. Katy GOT the official permission from the church and gave the money for purchase (15 mill) but the nuns didnt like her liberal views so they found someone else and sold them the house and took the money.

Which is ILLEGAL. So katy took them to court and won but unfortunately she and neither the other person got the house because the purchase time something passed but she got 10 million dollars back from the case. Whos in the wrong.

You’re welcome, I’m an outsider looking in really, but I can definitely see the mass attempt to take her down, and more disturbingly, the joy people are getting from it.

For you, It’s a tough spot to be in as a fan. I’ve been there for decades as an MJ fan when the majority in the room gaslight you and indirectly insult via broad comments and allusions. I’m not saying anyone here is doing that by the way, just in general everyday terms.

The hard thing about it is, sometimes the artist you’re a fan of doesn’t always help themselves and they fall into a loop of can’t-do-right-for-doing-wrong. We’ve all been there to some extent. When you’re failing and people are laughing at you, you end up failing more.

I’m only vaguely familiar with her first two albums as I bought them for my wife at the time. They were choc full of catchy pop tunes, and -I think it was Teenage Dream- that came in a strawberry scented deluxe edition which I actually thought was ace, and probably the singles from her third album.

To be honest I wasn’t a fan of the girl group space trip recently. It seemed more of an opportunity for the glam cam than anything profound, and perhaps at a time where people are struggling financially and economies are collapsing it just smacked of A Selfie Too Far. I wouldn’t hate on them or anything but I did chuckle when I saw that their hair, makeup and designer bodysuits were all perfect. It felt like more of a vanity project than a profound exploration of the universe.

Anyways, perhaps I’ll give Prism a spin on the way home from work later and if there’s enough catchy pop on that one I’ll get to the next album.
