I think MJ was incredibly versatile and could pull any and every genre off with ease. That said, something about his pop/R&B vocals just sit with me. He had a powerful voice, but he also could emote like nobody’s business. I was just listening to “Be Not Always” today, and the pathos in his performance is just absolutely ridiculous.
