If Michael had been able to contribute a song from Invincible to Men in Black II in 2002, which one would you have chosen?
Which song would have suited his role as Agent M? Looking at the text below, the song Invincible would have been a good fit because of Serleena.

Agent M contacts Chief Zed at MiB Headquarters to report that the Durlock aliens have departed and that a peace treaty has been successfully signed between them and another species, possibly an alien race.
During the conversation, Agent M inquires about a potential position within the Men in Black agency. However, Zed, having previously made a vague or false promise, dismisses the request by claiming he is working on an alien affirmative action program and will keep him informed. When Agent M insists that this was not the agreement they had, Zed abruptly hangs up, though not before M makes one final plea, stating that he could be "Agent M."
Later, when Serleena seizes control of MiB Headquarters and demands that Zed bring her Agent K, Zed secretly dials another number. When Serleena takes the phone, Agent M is on the other end, assuming he is speaking with Zed. Once again, he asserts that he could be Agent M. However, this call serves as a diversion, allowing Zed an opportunity to launch an attack on Serleena. Despite his efforts, she ultimately overpowers and subdues him.

Have to disagree, MJ's cameos in Men In Black and videogames like Ready 2 Rumble in the late 90s kept MJ relevant in my young mind when I hadn't really been exposed to his music after he stopped getting as much coverage in the US.

Fair point, but I think there would have been better options for MJ to stay relevant.
He was mocked endlessly for this cameo.

Interesting, I've never heard anything of the sort. I thought it was a nice tongue in cheek appearance.

There were all these stories about Michaels's behavior on set. Partly these stories came from director Barry Sonnenfeld himself, with stories like these:

Sonnenfeld recalled a shooting day with Jackson that was fraught with minor problems, starting with an alleged demand (though from who, the book doesn't say) that everyone call Jackson Number One or The King of Pop. The director also recalls calling Pascal when Jackson wouldn't come out of his trailer for over an hour, and asking her to come speak with him as both studio chairperson and "the single reason we agreed to this insanity." Sonnenfeld says that Pascal didn't talk him down, but Jackson eventually appeared on set in red pajamas and seemed nervous. "The King of Pop, standing on his mark, stared out at dozens of crew members and whispered: 'Mr. Barry. Can we do this tomorrow?'"

Things got worse before they got better. According to the new memoir, Sonnenfeld asked Jackson if the pair could talk in his trailer, and once inside, the pop star burst into tears. When Jackson asked to move the shoot to the next day, the filmmaker wasn't able to acquiesce. "I'm sorry, Michael, um, King," Sonnenfeld recalls. "It has to be today. But if you don't want to do it, we can make it work without you." Hilariously, he also says Jackson claimed it was his dream to play a Man in Black "from the time [he] was a little boy," even though the first film had only come out a few years earlier. After the pair finished speaking, Pascal called Sonnenfeld, relaying the news that Jackson thought he'd been fired. Sonnenfeld had clearly lost patience by this point, but writes that they shoot went on that day as planned. "I went back to the King of Pop's trailer and somehow convinced him to put on the f***ing black suit and walked him to the set. We rolled camera."

This is based on Sonnenfeld's book, but these kind of stories were already going round at the time. It portrayed Michael as a kind of moron. I know a lot of people – not just fans – liked his cameo, and that's positive, but I think it also made him weird in the perception of many.

But I love to hear what all the others on this forum think about it.

I think that entire story is probably made up to be honest. It sounds like something a ghost writer came up with based off the outdates rumors from the 90s that MJ always demanded to be called the King of Pop which we have plenty of evidence to know is just foolish and a lie.

We also have no reason to believe MJ had stage fright considering all the short films he made over his lifetime.

Personally, I believe that's what killed him. Being a perfectionist, he was under immense pressure, every time he had to perform. Not eating, being unable to sleep, getting dehydrated ... He loved his art, and he wanted to create te best he could, but it came at a price. We tend to overlook that. When I see this video, about rehearsing Smooth Criminal, I watch with admiration:

But Vincent Patterson tells us how mind boggling Michael's perfectionism was: "... doing the exact same movement, hours and hours and hours on end ..."

We all know the perfectionist he was. And being a perfectionist comes with stress, and a need for control. With his own short films, he had control. He could do take after take. He could rehearse for hours on a single movement. But then he does a cameo in a large Hollywood production – and he clearly had less control. He wants to do it perfect, but there is the pressure of time. And the pressure of not being in control. May be also the pressure of doing something he didn't do a lot: acting.

I think there might be truth in this story.

I love seeing MICHAEL EVERYWHERE because that is what they wanted for him to NOT DO WHATEVER HE WANTED TO DO FREELY!
Michael was a comedian and had a very cheeky sense of humor which I LOVED his laughter.
Michael wanted to do it and any other fun stuff outside of music and wanted to be in Feature Films!
He wanted to do it and I am glad he did, he was so awesome in it, my young neice just recently made his MIB cameo into her social media pages, I asked her why did she do that, she said she just watched it again and it was giving her "LIFE & MJ IS THE BEST" lol!
There are many people that did not think negatively about it at all, many loved it and will continue to love it because everything he did do will last forever in the most popular movies that younger generations will treasure forever!!

ā¤ļøā€šŸ”„ :ROFLMAO: (y)šŸ‘‰When Michael Jackson refused to play an alien in Men in Black!
Sonnenfeld said that for the sequel movie he wanted to have people who make you think ā€œyeah, he could be an alienā€ but the director did not contact Michael. That’s right, Michael Jackson approached them for the second movie.
He said ā€œWell, I was going to make him an alien and he said, ā€œNo, I want to wear the ā€˜Men in Black’ suit.ā€
So we figured out how to do that and it worked out. He was lovely.ā€

We already knew that but for those who did not know, here you are!

Whatever MICHAEL WANTS Michael gets lololol and I am living for it lolol! (y) :ROFLMAO: 😜
