Is "Someone Put Your Hand Out" New jack swing?

There's no such thing as "new jack swing"

Someone Put Your Hand Out is a ballad.

Someone Put Your Hand Out is another one that’s gone completely under the radar due to the estates complete incompetence. Like a lot of other tracks, why isn’t it on streaming services? I suppose it allows them to sell it back to us as a new track at some point.

It was released while MJ was alive on a Dangerous tour Promo Cassette (and then in the ultimate collection), it's not necessarily the estates fault this song was never really promoted, even MJ didn't promote it properly, it's always been more of a B-side.

I own it on both those formats. It’s not on streaming services. Why?

I’m not asking for it to be promoted, merely made available.

I know why you would be thinking it's New Jack Swing because of Teddy Riley supposedly producing the track...

However, it sounds more like a Bruce Swedien production to me than a Teddy Riley one. Teddy for sure had a hand in writing the track, but the original Pepsi cassette credits Bruce.
It sounds more along the lines of "Will You Be There" and "Keep The Faith", both produced by Bruce... The dense electric piano/sampled guitar gives hints of Brad Buxer too.

It would have made a great transitional track from the New Jack Swing tracks into the second half of the album.

Because it's not solely written and produced by Michael, meaning they'd have to split the earnings from streaming with Bruce's estate and Teddy but they're not going to do that because they want it all for themselves.

They don’t want to give handouts for Someone Put Your Hand Out? Yet when it comes to giving themselves bonuses and overcharging for work they didn’t do, all they do is hand out.

How much longer will we have to endure these muppets?!

I read that it's a New jack swing ballad over 10 years ago on Maxjax.

Would y'all consider "Joy" (also written/produced by MJ and Riley) NJS? "Someone Put Your Hand Out" sounds like that:

I don't understand how all the singles with their respective mixes, album versions, extended, with their B-side remix etc are not available on platforms if they are supposed to be part of the official catalog.

It will be a good promo strategy to add them on the platforms and update the resolution of the music video

I dunno. It's always better to own the music you want to listen to, then you don't have to worry about the fragile nature of "streaming platforms".

Over the last couple of years I've been buying up the CDs I didn't get at the time. Between that and YouTube, I have all the remixes that are any good, so I couldn't care less what the "streaming platforms" have decided they're going to offer this month.

The song was originally intended for Dangerous. There's video of MJ, Bruce and others selecting the tracks, and it was included. For whatever reason, they dropped it which I think was a mistake

IMO it would have made a perfect outro song for the album instead of Dangerous. That ending to the song is perfect 👌
