The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

[Paul Anka]
Things I know are true
I find it hard believing in you, you know it

You tell me things, I know you lie
I see the truth, the alibi you show it (?)

[Michael Jackson]
You say you don't want me no more
I'm feeling fine, I'm leaving you this time

[Chorus]
It don't matter to me...
It don't matter to me, what you say

The original demo is titled "It Don't Matter To Me". Michael's listed as sole vocalist; there's no registration of IDMTM with Paul Anka vocals.

I do think the one snippet where MJ sings the title is fake. You can hear the artifacts, like they threw the Drake version vocal over the filtered instrumental. The rest is definitely legit though, as far as I’m able to tell.

Very interesting that this is the only one of their songs with any instrumentation other than piano.
This was a rework done in 2014 for Anka's "Duet" album. The original '80 demo is still out there unheard.

Oh, interesting! Thank you for the clarification!

Listening back, I can hear some light artifacts across MJ’s entire vocal track. Maybe Anka tried stem separation and it just didn’t do the trick.

that one was posted several months ago before this longer one came out, listening closely it sounds like a different take than the drake vocal. also paul's voice in the background

Michael took the tapes of the recordings and re-recorded them himself

I’m probably being 100% paranoid, but i definitely feel like there are more songs being kept extra hidden by the collectors in these groups. Like what are the chances that someone has Call It Off and Don’t Matter to Me all of a sudden?

Ok so we have the following:

Streetwalker ‘86 Demo
Streetwalker ‘87 BS/QJ Ver.
Streetwalker ‘88 BB Ver.

So now we all need is that version of the 1988 mix of the song that apparently has trashcan drums and the OG demo, Florida Groove. Can someone locate Brad’s laptop?

They have even more. Rocker, Water, Dark Lady, Monster, Innocent Man.There are whispers about those songs being around for a long time now. We're just too plebs to have access to them probably.

If this is true, then that means we're only now starting to see the full extent of what was taken in the 2012 hack. No way would this many tracks be in collectors' hands without some kind of major leak involved.

I hope I didn't confuse anybody.
[in 1986] Michael screened for me, in his screening room at Hayvenhurst - "The Emerald Forest"
Which was his way of asking me to prepare for Earth Song, which barely started at Hayvenhurst, with John Barnes just playing the 2 chords on piano.
Later, Michael screened "To Kill a Mockingbird" with Gregory Peck. His way of giving me meaning for the future song "Black or White"

Both of these VHS tapes I still have.

BTW. no song was written - but the 3rd VHS he gave me was "This is Elvis"

You all should watch it.

Speaks volumes to how forward-thinking Michael was when one song from 1995 could be concieved an entire decade and two album cycles apart.

You can hear the points where the og demo come into play on the real snippet with MJ’s vocal, where it sounds like the piano is doubled.
Yeah, the quality dips quite noticeably on the vocal as well. I thought it might have just been something the leaker did as a watermark or something lol.

i somewhat haven't caught up to what's with the TYLA leaks, did the full thing leak in HQ or is it just snippets?

snippets but we might as well have the whole song with how many there are

The full track is 9 minutes but after the 4 minute mark the song is just a loop of the instrumental, so that's practically the full thing. Why people are still gatekeeping the song at this point is beyond me lol

What a great example of a recording that would be best contextualised within an archival release, with liner notes, alternate versions, other sessions within the time period and a low-budget documentary or podcast series with his collaborators. That would make hardcore fan really happy.

And then on the side, you could do the Cirque do Shitlie stuff to make money.

I know for a fact there's a certain circle of people who have access to songs that the rest of us on this forum consider super obscure holy grails. So I'm wondering, are all these snippets coming from them?

With how many songs are going around, it feels like it's only a matter of time before they end up in the hands of some kids and leak in full, maybe not too far off. That's assuming they're all real, of course
Simply having them isn't enough for these people. The God complex within them means they feel compelled to release teasers so they can watch the mortal fans talk about them, scratching their itch for attention. They never change.

If the people running the estate could put their weird egos aside and realise that people care about mj and not them then I guess something like this could happen. Although that would require them caring enough about mj's art to do so.

What do you mean, "MJ's art"? Branca's only job is collecting Ferraris. Running the Estate is his sidejob. He can't be arsed that much about us or MJ.
