I know this thread might be considered to go into the Trials Section, but I’m talking about celebrities reacting to the 2005 trial/ Verdict Day. It seemed during the trial, no major famous person (pop/ R&B singers, actors, directors, friends, etc) made any public comment about the trial during 2005. Maybe famous people were prohibited by law to make statements? The trial was one of the biggest media/ world events of 2005.

I don't remember anyone making a statement, even MJ himself didn't make any statements. I vaguely remember an interview that Britney Spears did (I think with Diane Sawyer but I could be wrong), in that interview BS said some positive things about MJ and I distinctly remember the interviewer asking if BS still felt this way with everything that's going on, and BS replied yes as she chooses not to believe those things. I remember thinking this was a very brave statement for BS to make, I could be wrong but I think this was in 2003, so before the actual trial but possibly after the MB doc/arrest. Going off a hazy memory though so I could be very off in terms of my time references. I just remember feeling grateful to BS for standing up for MJ, and this was before her own actions started becoming questionable and worrisome.

It does not matter what anybody thanks about stuff like this. And "celebrities" are just normal people.

In my opinion those who waited for (or after) the verdict to make their voice heard did not speak when they should have. The trial showed how cowardly so many are... Same goes for after Leaving Neverland.
