any idea? he hasnt updated his website since 1 year and hasnt given any update about where the 267.000USD are going, right? Did he bury the project all together?

I've only really heard references to it on the MJCast, they usually give the impression that it's very much something that is still happening, and are very supportive of TJ. He usually makes an appearance for their Xmas specials, maybe he mentioned it in the last Xmas special, I don't recall from memory though.

Taj who?

If the documentary doesn't come after the biopic because it capitalizes on the hype, then it will never come.

I thought the plan was "to clear the run way"? Anyway he's gone too quiet, if it's on hold or he plans to work quietly he should have said that instead of the updates then silence

He took the money and ran.

As you should know The Michael Jackson Estate have ordered Taj to not release his project until after the biopic not to distract from the biopic. Meaning Taj can probably not release or present his project until earliest in aprox 12 months if the the biopic is only one part.

If the biopic is in 2 parts with part two released in fall of 2026 then Taj cant present or release his project before 2027.

In july on the MJcast they were talking with Charles after he had visited Los Angeles and they very much spoke about the Taj project as still happening which of course it is until we hear otherwise!

Charles also met spoke with Jin Chohan who is still working on the title: Trial by Media: The Michael Jackson story - that is also still in the pipes and not abandoned.

Tajs project is even more important now if the biopic like all reports indicate does not have the Chandler story in it and perhaps not even the allegations in it at all!

Tajs fathers Tito Jacksons sad passing probably in late 2024 made Taj busy with far more pressing concerns than updating people on a project he probably would not be allowed to present until 2 years later.

Additional note: Since Taj has already confirmed where the 267 000$ USD is going a couple of years ago he wont need to do it again unless people have suddenly developed amnesia.

It's been how many years and Taj hasn't provided an update worth mentioning, a follow up or even clips of said documentary. He was better off leaving it alone tbh.

Why would for example releasing 8 part documentary after the biopic and its aftermath is over be worse than not releasing anything at all? I struggle to understand why Michael Jackson fans continue to belittle and attack the only Jackson family member who has went out of his way to risk his reputation and time to defend his uncle. On top of that Michaels brother Tito recently passed and not even the sudden loss of Tajs father is enough to leave Taj alone for a while!

We can be thankful Ta is loyal to Michael as many of Michael Jacksons fans do not deserve a good project result with the way they have been stabbing Taj in the back! Social media being toxic is probably one of the reasons Taj has gone more silent. It must be be devastating to put your time and energy into a project and then be constantly attacked by the people you partially are making it for!

Lionsgate has more or less not provided any meaningful update of the biopic, do you think Lionsgate and the Estate would have been better of leaving it alone as well?

Tbh, its depressing seeing this stuff, if some of us fans had not stuck up for Taj and instead joined the bash bandwagon I believe Taj would have been bullied into canceling the project by Michael Jackson fans, which is insane!

To clarify: I am not speaking of you with these sentiments, because there has been a lot worse written both on here and on social media!

I think when TJ initially announced the project after LN, fans were under the impression that it would be a rebuttal to LN, and that's what they were making donations for. And it was a rebuttal we all desperately felt we needed at the time. However, I think TJ changed directions and decided to approach it from a different angle, and this along with the delays and minimal updates is the reason why many feel misled and let down by TJ.

Sometimes when I listen to him, I get the impression he bit off more than he could chew, I appreciate his ambition but question whether he was the right person to take on such a project. At the same time, no other family member is doing it, so he at least deserves credit for trying. And he does seem very sincere in supporting and protecting the legacy of his uncle.

TJ got nothing to do with it, it's his brother Taj.

Now this is at least some reasonable questions without just resorting to making fun of Taj.

Who do you give the benefit of doubt until knowing the facts? Someone who travelled around the world to defend MJ when he had not even seen Leaving Neverland yet. Who spent countless of hours on TV-shows, radio and podcasts to defend MJ when nobody else did. Who has kept up defending MJ to this day while also having his own streams and joining the MJ-cast on a regular basis and as such being a part of the Michael Jackson fan community.

To me it makes zero sense to just go out of the way to bash Taj at every chance possible - to me its more a group gang up bullying "internet" thing that brings out the worst in people! But sometimes it makes me question if maybe its time to just give up on the MJ fandom altogether if this is who we are and what we are about.

Taj embarked on this project because he hated that the legacy of MJ was being destroyed, even if he fails I will applaud that as long as I know he put his best effort into it! There is nobody else that would even think about doing anything at all! As of now nobody has an idea what will happen after the biopic has been released and Taj has no obstacles to announce his project - until I have evidence of a failure I will not besmirch & attack the only person who holds the only hope we have of such a project Taj is describing.

Would MJ approve of the baseless bad-mouthing of Taj while trying to defend his reputation? Certainly not, that should be enough for people to think twice!

What is going on with Taj? He used to do a livestream every few months especially when it came to pivitibal moments in MJs life/career. MJs birthday is in a couple of days and still no live stream announced or any word whatsoever from Taj. Does anybody know if he is ok?

I don't know but he did some 3T concerts with his brothers recently.

Oh that's awesome, I'm glad to hear that.

As frustrating as it is with the lack of updates on his docs series (and whether it is even coming out at this point) Taj is a great guy and I'm sure means well. He, like us, just wants to clear MJs name once and for all. Kudos to him for that.

I'm sure Taj has the best intentions but he probably announced it too soon.

Although in fairness to him, I still believe that the Michael biopic is mistimed. The Estate should have waited until all these recent allegations were a distant memory/resolved and then partnered with a studio for a biopic

I’ve long since given up defending Taj and hoping for the best. There is no justifiable excuse for his conduct over the past seven years.

Not only is he preemptively damaging any credibility a rebuttal documentary has simply by being the face of it, not only did he miss the window of opportunity by nearly seven years, not only has he gone basically radio silent while still performing and recording with 3T, but he also grossed over a quarter million dollars and to date has only published a half-assed website with bullet points and absolutely no sources for independent fact-checkers to verify. That Trial by Media documentary is taking a long time, but the director is transparent and constantly updating. There’s absolutely no reason Taj shouldn’t be doing the same.

I also call BS on the claim that the estate is preventing its release until after the biopic. On what grounds? Are they funding it? Is there unreleased footage a lĆ  the last photoshoots documentary that they’re revoking access to? Actual development on the biopic didn’t begin until 2023—have they been stonewalling since then? There’s no logical reasoning to believe that the doc is ready to go but is being withheld to not compete with the biopic.

Do I believe that Taj loves his uncle? Of course, and I will always respect his dedication and persistence. But this project was misguided from the start and has slowly descended into a complete joke in my eyes. MJ might not like people badmouthing Taj, but he also wouldn’t like one of his family members raising money using his name and never delivering on the promises they made almost a decade ago.

I’d love to eat my words one day. But as it stands, Taj has unfortunately joined the crowd of people who weaponize MJ’s name for money and attention.

I think it's really easy to pass judgements when looking at things from an outsiders perspective.

However much we choose to speculate, we don't really know what's happening with the doc. We also don't really know much of what's happening with the biopic. And the waiting game is exasperatingly frustrating when we all so hungry for MJ content.

If he doesn't release anything within a year of the biopic then I think such criticism would be fair and valid, otherwise it seems somewhat premature to me.

With respect, I don’t think it’s premature to be judging an as-yet-unreleased documentary that was announced almost 10 years ago. And while I agree that we don’t know the full story, that just goes back to the criticism about Taj’s radio silence. He obviously can’t discuss every single detail, but the fact that the most recent info on the doc came from Charles Thomson and not Taj speaks volumes to me.

Damn, are u Taj?
Why keep defending this? Let us trash Taj. This won't hurt him. He won't know. He's a big boy.

...trash someone who is barred from releasing anything until after the biopic? 🫤

I'd rather see Taj keep realizing his vision on his own time than spending it explaining to MJ fans who don't listen nor respect the integrity of his family and friends

Yes, I want to trash Taj — and that’s my right.

The biopic has nothing to do with this. There was never a documentary, and there never will be. Quoting Joe Pesci in Moonwalker: ā€œremember that, remember that.ā€

It’s been years since Leaving Neverland. Every week, month, or year we hear the same recycled promises — not even from Taj himself, but from delusional fans clinging to a lost cause. At some point, reality has to sink in. Really. It's ****** moronic.

It's your choice to be cynical but it's disinformation at this point, especially if you're singling Taj out. He's been more transparent than just about anyone in the know in comparison.
