"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Well one thing's for certain. She sure managed to push the biopic to the front page! Even good morning America did a segment on it, though I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised to see MJ footage on broadcast TV.

people who still think that this lady doesn't hate her father need to wake up.

her words have been picked by some media outlets and internet communities as an insinuation of her father being guilty and that the biopic is propaganda on that front.

she works in hollywood herself, she knows how certain things get picked and interpreted and the fact that she reacted so strongly to the harmless (although annoying) PR statement by a simple actor but couldn't call out all these newspapers and guilters with the same fervor says a lot.

someone who loves their father would never tolerate such insinuations, put yourselves in the same position. would you?

why would I foam at the mouth for it? I just call out things for how i see them. I think some of you are up for a rough awakening.

anyway, my excitement for the biopic has considerably decreased. it's one thing for the slander to come from the usual anti mj media, but when it's his own daughter contributing to it, what is even the point? I'm sorry for MJ, as this movie will turn into yet another excuse to drag his name in the mud. but if his own kids are ok with it, then who am I to object

Precisely because she loves her father, she cannot accept such blunt and superficial propaganda as this biopic.

you are deep in denial. by her own admission, she decided to not get involved, and her whole contribution has started and ended to some notes for a FIRST draft. if she cared that much for this movie to not be superficial and non factual, she would have contributed in this last year of rewriting the script.

Who says she could have participated? The film had to be rewritten in a certain way to avoid conflict with the previous accusers. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't like that either, but the film will have cost so much by then that they'll release it anyway, no matter how botched it turns out.

You seem to live in a world where the entire point of Paris being alive is to contribute to the Michael Jackson movie. She said that she gave notes, got told that they weren't going to take any of her suggestions on board and moved on.

where did i even suggest that she's alive to contribute to this movie? nonsense

by the way, the damage has been done. people are slamming this movie as the whitewash of an evil man more than they were doing already, and it's fans who try and clean the mess as usual.

i hope they have the good sense to shelve it for good. i don't have the energy for another mj related hate train. 2019 was enough

Did she move on though, it's all getting a bit tedious now, it's out there now, the media lapped it up.was it really necessary to publicly humiliate a man who probably just assumed the whole family were on board,he just turned up at an event tried to be nice it's part of the industry . I'm struggling to get on board with her comments it's kind of upset me

I can think she didn't go about something the right way without acting like the world is exploding and she is the worst person ever. (Not saying you said this but some people here are acting like this).

I could say what I would have done etc but I don't think it would be very useful or add anything to the discussion. She said what she did and it's been said.

I understand what your saying ,but it has upset me I don't feel the need to say anymore on the subject we all have our thoughts and I really want her to be okay it's just been a messy few days but I need to put it to bed now, sometimes it's just hard to gather your thoughts

I get you. personally, I felt so excited on MJ's birthday. I saw an outpouring of love I didn't see in a while, that + that birthday video by the movie cast as they scrapped up shooting. then it felt like everything went downhill quickly.

I would love for Prince to address the issues that have been raised by Paris or make sense to what's happening between him, the estate and her, instead he keeps putting this fake, overly positive front on while his sister behaves in the exact opposite way. how these people act make no sense to me.

this movie has received too much controversy already. it's not the vendication fans were hoping for and it's being mishandled. time to put it to bed.

Paris can understand well that she doesn't want to have anything to do with Estate doesn't wonder how she deals with his legacy

You're all arguing with somebody that joined the community yesterday... You're feeding in to the narrative. @Zizzistar, take you're negativity somewhere else. It's boring.

New members should have a cooling off period before they're allowed to post BS

Look, first! Any publicity is good publicity and good or bad will get Michael movie on everyone's spotlight! Secondly its definetly right that there is a Michael movie!
Paris probably is sick of hearing things about her Dad when she does not have him in her life anymore! It hurts you know! I lost my Mum and if everyone was going on about her it would kill me.
It's going to be a huge film so let's talk about that and be back on subject and discuss all the promotion that will soon start!

I carnt wait to goto the pictures and see on the big screen the start of Michael teaser/trailer, there showing Springsteen at the moment and even that looks quite good.

i don't understand why you are singling me out when other people are expressing concern about how the upcoming biopic will play out as well.

a forum community shouldn't be an echo chamber, i think i'm more than allowed to express my frustration at stuff without someone labeling them as BS. if you don't like my POV just move past it

And just as I predicted, the article ends by mentioning LN and the allegations. Great job Paris!
but these fonts in denial will tell you she hasn't distanced from her father, and wasn't purposefully trying to sow doubts about his innocence.

well, she knows her reasons. i'm tired of this story, it's no longer my business

You're not getting it: I’m NOT saying she’s attacking her father purposefully. What I meant is just that her statement can easily be used that way in the media — whether she intended it or not. She is just not being smart here in my opinion.

However, one should keep in mind that the biopic will attract criticism no matter how the script is rewritten. If the accusations are removed, critics will say they are trying to hide and conceal something. But if the accusations and background are presented authentically, they will say they are trying to clear Michael of any guilt.

Was anything else changed? Are vitiligo and lupus mentioned? Is Joseph Jackson accurately portrayed with the belt he used as a disciplinary measure? We'll know soon.
