"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Am I the only one that doesn’t think the Branca shot is that gratuitous? To me, it seems like them reminding people that Miles Teller, arguably one of the biggest names attached, is in the movie. Branca absolutely has an ego but I don’t think it goes as deep as many insist it does, especially since he shows up for a whole .75 seconds lmao
I am in a music course in college, but all my mates are film students. Each person I showed it too just looked until they went “oh **** miles teller” or “oh shit drummer boy”, so that was extremely smart to put in.

Well I hope that's not the direction they're going for, because that would be a big fat lie. Michael had a beautiful nose, it was neither too big nor too small, it was just the right size and it fit his face perfectly. The nose only looks too big on Jaafar because his face is shaped differently and his eyes are set closer together, but on Michael's face it didn't look too big, it looked just right. Michael didn't have surgery because he needed it, he had surgery because his father destroyed his self-esteem to the point that Michael couldn't see how beautiful he was. Michael even hated his smile for God's sake, his beautiful smile, the first thing you see when you search "most beautiful smile in the world" on Google.

Beautiful nose:

Michael didn't need surgery, he had trauma. That's what I hope the biopic will show to the world.

You are right that his father instilled it, I think that he tried to justify it to himself later on by thinking he needed it to be famous.

In a 1987 note to himself Michael wrote:

'plus, a lot of blacks have been ugly to look at', 'you must be beautifully looking'
'I will change this NOW with the power of my songs and dance and looks and total reclusiveness and mystery world'

For those unfamiliar with MJ, his high-pitched voice during his dialogue with Q is likely to pique interest and curiosity. Will the film explain that he consciously used this voice for vocal training? I also find the contrast very interesting: first the childlike voice, and then Michael explodes on stage. The trailer is very well done.

I hope they don't forget to finally show Michael recording in the studio together with E.T. :)

Damn, how cool would that be, as an 80s kid that was the best combination ever

Michael himself said that he talked like 'Mickey Mouse' at the time because he didn't want to grow up/was afraid to grow up (with Schmuley..?)

IMO Michael was so, so afraid to be not popular anymore by maturing and thereby losing the love of his public and risk of punishment by his dad that his whole adult life he tried to copy his youth: his voice, energy, beliefs, his interests, fun activities, furniture, hotel setting in bedroom, people around etc.

The thing is, they can't cover everything unfortunately. They have to pick and choose which events in his life and career to cover as there is only so much they can out into a 2 hour movie.

You took that quote out of context

He did not. That's a lie.

Yes it's a quote..
But please correct me

He did not. That's a lie.

Is it? I definitely heard it, so unless it was doctored with..

Similar:

'I did something that was bad.
I'm a natural tenor but I used to force my voice to go higher because I never wanted to grow up.
I always wanted to sound like a kid.

And when I won my Grammy Award for Thriller, if you listen to me speak, I sound like a kid."

*** Words reported by Shmuley Boteach in his book "Honoring the Child Spirit"

Not only that. He wanted to preserve and experience a youthfulness he had never had. From a young age, he was always treated like an adult with strict schedules and a heavy workload.

Which songs do you think we see fully performed? At least Billie Jean (Motown 25) and Man in the Mirror. Most of the clips seen are probably part of montages. I hope we see the silver Bad Tour outfit.

I think the teaser came out very well. Great seeing all those positive reactions across the internet.

Such a welcome change basking in all this positivity for the teaser. It feels so good right now for us MJ fans.

This is just the beginning! It almost feels like there’s been an MJ awakening around the world.
