Favorite leaks?

I became a fan in the mid 80s. I don't remember HMH getting "leaked". I remember it getting released, and thinking it was quite mediocre.

Honestly, from that day onwards, I lost pretty much all interest in "leaks". There's no guarantee any of them are genuine. Why would I try to get myself hyped over a fake? It's just not worth it.

It's doubly ironic that there are perhaps 50-100 actual MJ songs that were officially released and yet quite a lot of fans never even bothered to listen to them
Basically all of the recent ones were confirmed to be real

Not excited by the recent leaks. I would've liked to hear the 2008 version of "The Loser". Also the 2002 version of "Xscape" in high quality.

It was nice hearing the missing lyrics of "Best of Joy", at least.

The Xscape leak was epic , I remember listening to it on some online MJ radio channel where the song was on a loop.

I remember thinking this is what was missing from Invincible and was excited at the prospect of Xscape being a new MJ single release (there was rumours at the time of it being for a new album , the infamous resurrection.

tbh I’m not the biggest fan of leaks unless the song is mostly complete. The odd chorus along with the instrumental just makes me frustrated that MJ never ever completed the tracks.

It looks like he worked on a lot of stuff without ever really finishing them.

What was the name of the track that got leaked last month? It was horrific and one that I never listened to again, it was shit .

Guess the will.i.am tracks are the only songs that MJ actually finished putting his vocals down on in his final years.

No, "Hold My Hand" isn't an MJ song.

Turning Me Off. I liked it, but the song was definitely a weird vibe. Much like "World Of Candy" is, that's the weirdest MJ song I've ever heard.

Well, I'm not big fan of leaks, of course they are beautiful but they're clearly unfinished. I feel it's not right. Should never forget that Michael had very strong opinions about his unfinished work. What was not finished should not be released.

It’s always a pleasure to hear some new Michael vocals. I liked neverland Landing from the latest leaks and the missing vocals in best of Joy,
The Dangerous era leaks to me are a prove that Teddy Riley saved the album, the Bryan Loren tracks are really mediocre. The other tracks are too unfinished and not up to MJ standards. Imho.

I dont think so. As always MJ recorded some chorus and some guide vocals, not finished.

Recently it's "Remember What I Told You".

All time? Hot Street, 2010 DYKWYCA, Oslo 1992.

Most of my preferred outtakes have been officially released (Streetwalker, Cheater etc).

Out of the recent leaks it's Changes; closely followed by RWITY.

If I should count in the 2023 leaks, then the pole position would be Streetwalker (1986 mix), followed by Changes & Remember.

Are the recent leaks all very draft-y unfinished tracks? Or did I listen to the wrong tracks and are some actually advanced demo/finished songs?

All of them are work mixes at various stages. Most complete one is Neverland Landing. It's releasable as it is (which the Estate pretty much won't).

Definitely Changes. I have it in my head even while working. Also Remember What I Told You pops up in my head quite often.
Changes is really nice, but only.....imo.....for about 5 minutes.
I really dislike the "screaming" female voice in the last 3 minutes or so.
Audacity is my friend 🙂

mmmm it's the part where the song elevates imo. I find it to be a great experience for my ears. But well, everyone has different taste.

"Remember What I Told You", albeit incomplete, and we will never know the complete vision of the song. The simple lyrics and melodies, in a way, are a reminder of why we all love Michael. If it's one of the last songs he ever recorded, it just means he didnt lose his touch—not that I doubt he did. The lyrics, "Please let me go," with the adlibs, are just a poignant reminder of life.

Changes, definitely... I only have to read the word "changes" and it's stuck in my head 😅.

Well, I get that but imo the main problem is that some people judge a demo/leak like it's a finished song. I am sure that's why Michael never wanted unfinished material released, because most people don't see it as exploring possibilities, like a sketch of a drawing you want to make. That's basically what it is: an interesting glimpse into creating outstanding music. Not more, not less.

When I read "leak XY sounds horrible" or similar, I find that quite annoying and disrespectful. You never know how the end result would have sounded and we should be thankful to get to know some of Michael's ideas.

I love Remember What I told You, Boy No, and Neverland Landing. I'm hoping more will come out, feels like 2013 again lol

I think "I Am a/I Was the Loser", "(Days in) Gloucestershire", "Adore You", and "Rocker" are the most interesting songs MJ conceived post-Invincible even though most of them weren't anywhere near complete vocally or lyrically.

"World of Candy" was made for, what, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Too corny and manchildish. "Remember What I Told You" sounds like it was just meant for MJ's kids. It's touching, but it comes across more like a spoken message rather than a proper song.

will.i.am confirmed MJ finished putting down his vocals on at least one of the songs they worked on together. "The Future" or "I'm Still the King".

Is there any evidence that World of Candy was made for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Cause to me it really sounds like something he could have recorded for his kids. I could see him singing it to them like this:
