The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

To me, an unreleased MJ track or leak is welcome when it’s complete enough (or different enough from previous versions) to be added to one of my MJ playlists. So over the last week, the only leaks that « made it » are Remember What I Told You and, just barely, Jane is a Groupie. Things like Changes or Family Thing don’t make it.

So based on that rule, Rocker sounds like it would be worth it to me. It sounds complete enough.
Agreed. I like hearing them all at least once, but I've only had multiple listens of Innocent Man, Neverland, and Turnin' Me Off

Like another poster said, the early tracks are where the gold is as far as vocals are concerned.

How about Turning Me Off? And Neverland Landing?

And World of Candy.

I’m more interested in the earlier years. The later years are cool but there’s almost nothing finished. I need Thank You For Life, That Girl, What’s Your Life, Where is Love, Somewhere in Time….those are pretty much complete
Somewhere In Time was actually also recorded by Rebbie later on but remains unreleased as well. If it is the same song, it doesn‘t fit Michael really

Turning me Off made it to the list.

The other two would have were it not for the fact they are too saccharine for me… Also WOC’s sound quality is too low.

I kind of agree with this, unless there is confirmation that MJ was somehow involved in the instrumental I struggle to feign interest. It helps if it's confirmed that it's a song he had liked and "parked" for later, but with the Loren songs especially, I just hear the "Loren's sound for MJ" rather than "MJ" coming out of the speakers.

Somewhere in Time was written and recorded in 1980 for Triumph. Never heard of a version by Rebbie

Gatekeeping instrumentals + writers demos MJ turned down and never himself put any work or thought into is insane.

Like, cool to see what they proposed, but I'll listen to half of it and never play it again.

Exactly. Some songs have to go through co-writers but if you want to hear vocally and lyrically complete songs, 1976-1985 is where they are

This is absolutely true. I feel that for the most part, MJ focused on the beat and groove of a track rather than the music and lyrics for a lot (not all, obviously) of his post-Bad material - this is definitely evident with some of the more repetitive leaks from last week.

I just want to hear something that really feels new for MJ, these Buxer tracks that have been leaking are really cool but when I listen to those songs I don't get the vibe Michael was reinventing himself like he would when transitioning to a new era, they just sound like the same stuff Michael had been creating since the Dangerous period. This is why I'm hoping more songs from the Neff-U sessions get leaked, "Dark Lady" is the only song we've heard so far which truly sounds like something from a new era.

Did you get your hands on these files or did someone (probably Motif) leak their names?

Those files comes from a screenshot that Motif posted on a Discord server, I assume it isn't everything he owns since it's missing a few of the tracks he leaked. JacksonUnreleased is just being vague about it for clout lol

Is there an article or snippet that mentions Somewhere in Time being performed by Rebbie?
I have Rebbie‘s recording, has verses and chorus in full

Chorus:
Somewhere in time
In a place beyond reason and right
I imagine your lips touching mine
I know that you're out there
and I'll find you somewhere in time

Is not for clout i am just suprised that all of this is been gatekeeping lol

No idea if these are legit, but the songs have been in people's hands for a long while now. Would be awesome to have all the proposed HIStory tracks.

I have the original DAT tape of it; it's nothing special.

Rebbie's version? How would you describe the track? What's the vibe like, and does it remind you of any Michael songs in particular?
It's just a generic ballad from what I remember, but I haven't listened to it since like 2018. As for Michael songs... mmm... I guess it's similar to other ballads from the era. I can imagine it on Forever Michael, if anything.

I think it's in a drawer somewhere in the other room, I'll see if I can find it this afternoon.

May be fake, time will tell. If real, they sound generic as hell

"Christmas Star" has already been leaked, it was played in a footage that was taken from Brad Sundberg's stolen laptop.
