"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Firstly, this is bang on point! First was the teaser! To get you interested! Then more teasers and now the official trailer!
Thats enough for me now. This will be huge ! Why because Michael is a real unknown! Mysterious, almost magical and mystical!
Lets face it has anyone spent any time directly with him in his house? Spoke to him for hours etc? I was very lucky to have a small amount of time but nothing like jaafar will show us!
From the opening beats you can hear the music that broke down black and white music! You can get from the trailer of Mike creating his masterpieces. I will say again we as fans already believe in his innocence but even now with a tiny bit of promotion news outlets are saying that its a bombshell dropped! Michael was setup! Why did they not say this when he was alive!
I dont give a shit about how many sequins on his socks ! Whether we see Wembley etc real or not to scale or anything! At the end of the day this could have Michael playing everywhere! Could have lots of good! Not negative docs about him ! Etc etc. There is still going to be people who dont believe! Let them! No loss! But at long last there is something for Michael fans to look foward to. To see and hear! If it wins loads of awards great if it doesnt well as long as its fair at least we get to see Michael on the big screen! To answer people who said would Michael of wanted this, probably not as he would say its not time yet as he would of been a big movie star already! He had so many movie plans.
I can tell you this when that trailer gets shown in cinemas people are going to be booking their tickets! Im not saying all this because im a crazy fan , i just know how hard them first beats get you. Roll on April!

It might be "deeper" and more complex than we think / can see from the trailer.
It won't: it's a biopic. They're going after the audience that made "Rocket Man" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" a hit.

I guarantee you that there'll be a scene where a clueless record executive tells MJ, "you want to release a new single while the previous one is still climbing the charts?? But Michael, it will never work", followed by a hard cut to an MTV-like announcer saying, "Michael Jackson now has TWO hits at the same time! And they said it would never work!"

It will be that level of screenwriting.

That sounds like cinema to me, idk.

Other than the fact that it's clearly a standard fare Hollywood biopic and nothing special in that regard, I hope they can sort out some of the inconsistencies with the CGI nose. It currently seems to change dramatically between shots that are set in the same era or even the same year. There are shots where the CGI clearly hasn't been applied yet, so hopefully everything gets sorted by the time they hand in the final cut
Where?

Some great shots

What I like about the new trailer is that Michael tells himself at the beginning that he's confident, strong, and beautiful. He's convincing himself of it because he doesn't actually believe it. I also appreciate how the biopic portrays the attempts to profit from Michael's career from the very beginning. Viewers should then be able to piece together the true motives of the Chandlers, Arvizos, and Cascios.

MJ and his brothers as children watching the moon landing on TV and Jackie says "wow, they're walking on the moon" and Michael says "No, they are moonwalking" 😎

I am wondering how they will portrait the later years as none of those have yet been seen in the teasers or the trailer.

It's interesting - in the German Wikipedia it says the movie ends shortly before Michael's death in 2009, source from 2022. English version says 70s and 80s with source from 2026... so then basically it will be similar to An American Dream.

As an example I've taken four screenshots of shots where the CGI has been applied inconsistently. The scenes clearly take place right after one another (same clothes and hair) and assumedly take place in 1983/4 as they are discussing Victory Tour. You can see that the nose is completely different to the Beat It nose, for example

I'm sure they'll fix it, but it's still slightly concerning to see in a trailer only two months before release

It's the hair that they're messing up on. They're portraying him with an afro when it should be a curl.

Okay, I finally watched it. One time so far. And I am writing this without looking at the other comments, I don't want to get influenced (yet) 😅.

Overall it looks pretty nice and I am sure at the cinema it will be very cool.

But...I always have the problem that I can't take it when someone else plays Michael. And that's nothing against Jaafar, I am sure he did an incredible job and really put his heart and soul into the movie. I just look at it and think "aaah, nah...no, that's not...naaah" 😂. Can't explain...can someone understand me? Well, have to watch it more often, but I think that won't change. Had the same issue at the musical.

And I was kinda more impressed by the teaser 🤷.

Don't knooooow 🫠😅
