The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Not vocally. There are no verses, and even the choruses sound half-effort. That one definitely couldn’t be used in any capacity other than a bonus track.
on top of that, summertime has verses, the 2014 remix had d'angelo, jesse johnson, eric leeds & mary J on the track. I think this guy is making shit up for fun.

Yeah I believe their word when they say there's not a lot of releasable content left, not in terms of it all being unfinished (I believe there's much more than what meets the eye when it comes to songs that MJ recorded) but clearly the Estate wants a song to stand a chance at being a commercial success, and most of the material in the vault just isn't interesting enough to attract the general audience as is. The general audience isn't gonna be interested in hearing some demo with Michael mumbling non-sense lyrics over a looped beat for 6 minutes, that's something only the fans are gonna bother listening. You can already see how much demo releases tend to be ignored when you compare their streaming numbers. I get where the Estate is coming from in this case.
In that case, I feel that the Estate could've been a bit more honest in the way they phrased their wording, like "there is nothing in the vault that's comercially viable." That would've been a better way to get their point across without having it sound like they're talking out of their ass.

As long as it isn’t D’Angelo and Mary J. Blige feat. MJ, I’m interested in hearing it. Otherwise, the estate might best be suited letting D’Angelo’s estate release it on a future posthumous project.

My understanding has always been MJ recorded one verse and other people filled in the rest later for Xscape.

Back to the whole "nothing releasable left" thing, there are some things that can be released via anniversaries and the like (that aren't caught up in rights issues like the will.i.am stuff/the studio outtakes for OTW and Thriller/the Loren stuff)

PRE-OTW/OFF THE WALL

You Ain't Gonna Change Nothin' (assuming the LOC's copy isn't the only extant one)
Holiday Inn (assuming the LOC's copy isn't the only extant one)
Ode To Sorrow (assuming the LOC's copy isn't the only extant one)
Thank You For Life (assuming the LOC's copy isn't the only extant one)
Sunset Driver - Home Demo
Little Susie - Home Demo

THRILLER:

Learned My Lesson
Nymphette Lover
Somewhere In Time
Why Can't I Be?

BAD:

Chicago 1945
Dream Away
What You Do To Me (possibly)
Alright Now
Tomboy
Make Or Break
Bad Girl (possibly)
Crack Kills
Throwin' Your Life Away
the 11 remaining Malouf tracks
A Way With Words

DANGEROUS:

If You Don't Love Me
Joy

INVINCIBLE:

You Are The One
The World Is No Church
Get Your Weight Off Of Me

and possibly:
The Children's Hour
Lonely Man
In The Valley
Sister Sue
Why Shy
I Forgive You
She's Not A Girl

(was gonna list the Quincy stuff like "Hot Street," "Nite Line," and "Spice Of Life" but I'm trying to stay on the safe side of things just in case; also I think "Got To Find A Way Somehow" and "Under Your Skin" are also Quincy-produced given their copyright registration of 1979, same goes for "Boots' Groove")

We don't even know for sure if What You Do To Me is complete

We have no information on at least half of the titles you listed here, so I don’t think it’s safe to assume they’re release worthy. Especially since it’s been established that there are instrumentals or session vocalists on some of the tracks at the US Copyright Office, so there’s no sure thing.

Not trying to be overly negative lol, I just think it’s unwise to presume that any tracks from any era have usable vocals without concrete evidence. Some eras are more likely than others, but sadly none are a sure thing.

Boots Song has fluctuating reports that it has full vocals and is fully complete. Some people have said its been played at seminars, but nobody has said anything if they did in fact hear it

Goin' To Rio, We Are The Ones, Goodness Knows, and You Told Me Your Lovin' may be complete as well,

Sunset Driver '78 is probably like the WBSS demos, mostly complete vocals, but you can tell its a demo

It Don't Matter To Me also has full vocals

Rolling The Dice is not confirmed to have been produced by Quincy.

Mystery may have had a demo recorded

Bad Girl has rough and scratch vocals, its def not complete.

Make Or Break isn't complete iirc. It has rough/scratch vocals throughout. The 1989 version may have more vocals though

Neverland and Make A Wish are both vocally completed, I'm Peter Pan and Happy Song are also prolly complete too

We literally have no idea what the state of completion A Way With Words is at lol, we didn't even know about its existence til like mid 2025

Excluding the 2nd verse, Turnin' Me Off is vocally complete believe it or not

TYLA is technically Dangerous era

You Were There still hasn't been released

Yeah, that's understandable.

Joe Vogel said Make Or Break was complete iirc

Hot Fun only has a verse and chorus, Hot Street, Weight, Chicago 1945, IYDLM, and Dream Away leaked (though does that really matter) I Have This Dream is a scratch vocal, and literally no one has Joy.
Hot fun was finished though in 2013/2014 that’s what I was referring to but yeah if we’re talking just solo Michael then it’s incomplete. Joy has been said to be finished by a few people who heard/worked on it but I’m somewhat skeptical of anything Teddy claims. Like someone here said he could tell me the sky is blue right now and I’d be double checking 😭💔

What’s the source for IHTD having a scratch vocal? I always thought it was one he finished.

All the ones I mentioned have been confirmed to be vocally done or their leaks are done
Vocally finished ≠ Finished

Important distinguishing detail.
The songs on Xscape are perfect examples of this. So them saying there are extremely little “finished” songs left to release isn’t really a lie. Outright claiming there are NONE is though. The matter of finishing them would lie with the estate and they’d need to bring someone in to do it, which requires effort. Effort and the estate of Michael Jackson mix like water and oil.
