The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Not quite, Dre simply wanted to work with unproven talent like Eminem and felt MJ was too well-established for them to conceivably work together equally.
Well regardless, I’m glad it didn’t happen. Wouldn’t have aged well in my opinion.

I don’t think it makes sense for an “equal” partnership anyway, MJ was predominantly the ideas guy.

With Dre, he said he wouldn't have felt comfortable telling Michael what to do in the studio but I agree that it might've been the best choice to not work together. I doubt we would've gotten the music anyway

Bell Beefer unreleased song list details that has posted is real? Or he's joking again?
I don't think Bell Beefer has anything tbh, all he does is tease now. I think all he had was "Shut Up And Dance", "Garbage", and a snippet of "Boy No" (and I'm sure just a snippet because there was someone on the leaked.cx forum selling the song and they were sending around a snippet of the same bit Bell Beefer was teasing) which have all been leaked so he has nothing now. I'd really pay no mind to whatever this kid yaps about lol.

I think daft punk and mj would’ve been a really cool collab circa 2010. Right off of the Tron soundtrack. Maybe even Justice would’ve been cool. i think an mj French dance club sound would’ve been interesting (and new sound for mj)
World couldn’t handle MJ x Justice fr.

i’m sure we don't have an answer for this, but why has I Have This Dream never been talked about for release? If it has complete vocals and an all star guess list it would seem like a no brainer. Is it in legal limbo with the whole 2seas record contract thing?

Wasn't Michael, Sony and AOL sued for this song because of the competition involved? It's probably in a contract limbo as 2 Seas wasn't a real company from what I remember

I’ve always been confused as to who the actual winner was since I’ve seen multiple artists claim they were and apparently the song was retitled to From The Bottom Of My Heart which makes no sense.

Regarding the release though, doesn’t surprise me whatsoever this track has never gotten picked up. I doubt many artists on the song care to have it released over 20 years later. The rights probably be an absolute nightmare to work through since the track was involved with the 2 Seas stuff (I’m not sure what MJs agreement with them was honestly if they just owned the master or also publishing and/or composition), they’d need clearance from the contest writer and other composers/producers. Not to mention all of the other artists who worked on the track. And on top of all of that the song just really isn’t good. Not sure how complete the MJ vocal is on it, I’ve heard different things from different sources so it is possible the track has diff versions with varying degrees of vocal completion.

The copyright holder of the 2 Seas songs doesn't wanna release any of the recordings out of respect for Michael's legacy.
"Along with I Have This Dream – which Bottrell says sounded “grand” – two other Jackson-Abdulla co-writes were mentioned in the case: Light the Way and He Who Makes the Sky Gray. Although Sony continues to convert Jackson demos into singles, to some controversy, none of the Bahrain recordings are likely to be released, says Holmes, because of Abdulla’s respect for the hitmaker’s legacy: “I don’t think you’ll ever prise them out of him.”"

I think all these ideas of MJ working with Timbaland, Neptunes, Daft Punk etc. is what we want and not him tbh..

MJ wanted to make positive, meaningful music without any sexual connotation.
So Justin Timberlake might be influenced by OTW, Michael himself woudn't go in that direction anymore and especially not the sexual club stuff.

IMO that's why he turned down the Neptunes stuff, not because he didn't like the sound or whatever

MJ could've used the beats the Neptunes provided and just made his own lyrics to fit that idea. The Neptunes aren't the greatest when it comes to lyrics. Their strength were the beats, especially at the bridge. MJ would've molded these songs with his own touch and lyrics. I just don't think music was MJ's number one priority at this time.

Well, we got folks in this thread to apparantly have Light The Way

I mean aren't they just instrumentals with Choir on it? It's unreleasable on itself.
