Blues Away

I think basically if a song didn't have chart success, people on this board think it's shit.

I don't get it, why Michael's first ever self-written (and released) song is criminally ignored by the majority of fans.

After all it's this very song that paved the way for what was to come.

I love it, great song. Very MJ aswell. Loads of fans kind of skip jackson 5 and early jacksons, which I find bizarre. Loads of bangers from that era. Love the gamble & huff albums too.

This song is proof he used similar chord progressions in songs. Compare it to The Girl is Mine, That's What You Get for Being Polite, Thank You for Life and Why Can't I Be

When it comes to Jackson 5/Jacksons, people choose to mostly ignore their music from 1973-1977, even though they released some bangers during that period.

Blues Away is a very good song that should get way more recognition, as it is the first self written song released by the biggest music artist of all time.

The ending (not in this clip) is the best part. Goes almost acapella with only claps. Very funky. I would assume The Jacksons arranged this version themselves. I like it better than the album version.
Never thought about it but do you know if their songs from the show were rearranged by them?
