The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

I have no idea if Snakepit actually exists, but I can confirm what it definitely isn't:

1. It's not the working title of 'Black or White' or 'Smooth Criminal'.
2. It is not in the Hayvenhurst collection.
Well, not among the current known Hayvenhurst songs/demos that were recorded. It could have evolved from an existing idea cut at Hayvenhurst, like Bill Bottrell’s African Groove, an untitled instrumental or something of that nature.

The title came up during the official Westlake sessions in these one or two early press reports.
If real, it more likely originated from an idea at Hayvenhurst anyway. Most of the real creative work on Bad (on all of Michael’s songs) was done there, Westlake was basically re-creating those.

Almost everything that got recorded during the Hayvenhurst pre-production sessions between July 1985 and December 1986.

It's apparently held by private collectors.
So basically:

Dirty Diana (Demo)
Tomboy
I Just Can't Stop Loving You (Demo)

(?) Apocalypse Now

+ Titles we may have not heard of before

I was reading Talitha Linehan's "Michael Jackson and Me" book and I came across a part that says Michael was still recording new vocals as of May 2009, pretty cool info. Would love to know if Michael eventually came up with a title for this song before he passed and if it's a song that was listed on the notes in his bedroom.
"On several occasions, we sat in our cars by the side of the house at night, listening with widened eyes to new music accompanied by new lyrics, carried through the air by Michael’s crystal clear voice. On the evening of 22 May, several of us listened for hours as he worked on a song with a powerful bass and a rising crescendo, trying to make out the lyrics, as they were slightly too muffled to decipher. Now and again, we would hear him clapping or yelling excitedly, and when we heard the door open and the sound of footsteps, we all called out his name: “Michael! Michael! Michael!”

After we’d assured him that there were no paparazzi present, he came over to the concrete baluster railing above to chat with us, something he did a total of five times that evening, sometimes accompanied by his children.

“Oh my God, we can hear the music. It’s so amazing. It sounds amazing, Michael,” we told him the first time.

“You can hear the music?” he said, ducking down in embarrassment.

We asked him what the lyrics were, but he said he was still working on them, and we asked him the song’s title but he said he hadn’t decided on a title."

Florida Groove, pretty sure the full versions of WAHTCTW, P, etc etc

Do you have Alright Now and You're The One full MJ in this list?
They're basically just Michael's "writer demos". I've heard the whole thing once. They sound great. But there's no way the owner would even think about selling them. As far as I know, they weren't revisited during Hayvenhurst.

When you say "writer demos," does that mean the lyrics aren't finalized?

Bad Girl has the best rough vocal take ever.
Wow, that's great to hear!

Have you heard “eaten alive” solo version? Is it any good/releasable?

Another bit of info on what the 11th studio album would've been like. Very possible songs like "For The World", "The Future", and "Silent Spring" (the title is taken from an environmental science book so it's likely the track was intended to be another song about environmental awareness) would've been contenders for the tracklist.
"“I promise you, you’re going to hear it all real soon. I’m such a perfectionist, Talitha. I write so many songs. I write hundreds of songs, and it’s so hard for me to choose the ones that are good enough for you to hear.” And he said later, “I have pencils and pens and paper all over the house. And when I feel it, it just comes, and I write and write and write. It’s non-stop. I can’t turn it off.” He told me that the main message that he wanted to convey through his next project was one of environmental awareness. “The thing that I care about the most, and I’m being completely honest here, is our planet. There’s going to be so much on my album about the planet. I feel so strongly about what’s happening to our world.”"

That’s what made MJ so special in the 21st century. I wish that type of theme came through with either of the posthumous records.
