The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

he was part of my old discord gc. i remember when he made the mjleaker persona/acc. i assume thats become his main moniker now. he should reach out and send me a copy for old times sake
Thing is, does he have the 15 minute writing session (where the recent leaks are from) or the ~1 hour session (where the snippets of the more developed version came from in 2024)

Has the MJ Tracker been updated recently?

I'm back again!
Yes! Not too much new stuff going on but there’s been a few versions of stuff added and I found out there was a Prince demo he did for MJ which is sick. We also have been updating the layout with sub eras and alphabetized the song titles for more efficient searching.

Awesome! Could I please see what it looks like?

bryan said man in black was one of the first songs he started for decade. while the mix we have is from 90, the overall song isnt
My intuition tells me that it started out as part of the "3 Songs In One" package along with She Got It and a third song we've had yet to know about

I was always wondering, was the originally leaked mix of blue gangsta (before the XSCAPE release of the early demo) a much more advanced mix of the song? I was hearing that it was a 2004 mix.

The leaked version is from March 1999 and it was never worked on further. There is another posthumous mix made for the "Michael" album, though.
"...on March 6, 1999, Jackson wanted some very specific percussion sounds added to the track."
"Four years later, in late 2010 – 18 months after Jackson’s death – the latest version of “Blue Gangsta” leaked online."
Q: How do you know if "A Place With No Name" and "Blue Gangsta" will be on the next album?

F: That I know. This is confirmed.

Q: Great, we look forward to that! Do you intend to edit the song "Blue Gangsta", like a fresh remake?

F: Actually, I've already done so for "Blue Gangsta". I've updated it a bit, the song is completed, ready to go. It will be completely different from the version leaked on the net. It is perfectly calibrated to enter a nightclub. It sounds very European in style productions Kraftwerk.

Can someone explain to me why Michael considered Blue Gangsta unfinished? It sounds like a completely finished track to me.

It has absolutely everything. I can understand why the Xscape demo might feel a bit raw, but the 1999 version is much more polished and has a clear beginning and end.

If Michael had released this masterpiece back in 2001, it would’ve hit #1 on the charts worldwide instantly. It’s the best song from the Invincible sessions. I’m not exaggerating.

definitely wouldn't have been a #1 hit lol love the song tho

Why? It’s one of the best tracks Dr. Freeze has ever done
I agree it's one of the best if not THE best. Bear in mind ICONIC universally known and beloved tracks such as Smooth Criminal, Thriller, Remember The Time, You Rock My World were not #1 hits. Blue Gangsta would not have stood a chance lol

I can actually hear that the leaked version has some extra stuff compared to the XSCAPE demo.

"you make me wanna sing" is an extra vocal that I can hear.

I also noticed that Michael added western sounds to the song, which i am a big fan of because I love Western MJ songs.

You make me wanna sing is also in the "Xscape (Original Version)" but quieter, the leaked version is actually from 2008 as far as I remember

The leaked version of Xscape is from 2003, maybe even late 2002. I definitely remember listening to it in early 2003 when I wasYear 12 at school. I downloaded it, and recorded it to my mini-disc player ha those were the days…

I responded to Blue Gangsta, not the song Xscape

and I talked about date of mix, not date of leak. Xscape was done in 2001, leaked in 2002

Sick of this guy. He's never gonna leak anything.

The Xscape version is from 1998 or very early 99 iirc. The leak I believe is from March 6, 1999, and yes, it is more developed and fleshed out than the release. Such a shame that they didn't release the leak instead, maybe they had it but didn't include it as to make it seem like BG wasn't a fully finished song as to make the remix more justified?
