In the studio with MJ with Brad Sundberg

Two versions of Streetwalker that were pretty cool. On one version, MJ sang the "Give me some Time" part in a high pitched register, so the vocals probably weren’t finished here
These are the two demos you heard?

This is a early demo

Mix similiar as released one:

It's so hard to say because everything sounded totally different (in a good way, of course) through Brad's speakers 😅. But I am pretty sure the 2nd one was played.

I wonder what happened to the Yokohama 1987 tracks that he’d use for he mixing sessions before.

Is there any detailed information on how Will You Be There & Who Is It were made?

Super cool stuff there! Love the info on those tracks they played. Was that early demo of Jam just a drum beat? With no keys and all that. Teddy once said he did most of the keys on that tune.

Pretty sure it was just a drum beat / groove with no keyboard. Brad called it Jam in "embryo form". Didn't sound like Jam at all to me.

No very specific information about these two songs. I think we saw one or two videos of MJ / the team listening to / working on WYBT in the studio.

Today we got the pictures. Mainly portraits of each participant, so I also took some screenshots from Insta. I think it's okay, you all know where the pictures are from, the photographer is @rezacifuentes (Insta).

...well, I took the last picture, so technically I own it, and can do with it WHATEVER I want 😂.

edit: just saw there are more pictures to download, maybe I will share some more, when I find the time 🤯

Anybody planning to attend the LA event?

Were any unreleased songs played?
Today we had the mixing session, tomorrow we will have the stories session.

Nothing unleaked was played today: Faces, Deep In The Night, early version of SPYHO. We will see tomorrow, but I don't he will play anything unleaked.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that he played a bit of Time Marches On, when discussing about Jam.

Could you please ask Brad if he knows about "Snakepit"? (though Brad might not be the best source for this as he wasn't that much involved with "A team" stuff during Bad sessions)

Today we had the stories session.

He spoke about:
- Captain EO
- Bad album: IJCSLY (the fact it was the last MJ song recorded with a live band, the Spanish and French versions, not having a good opinion about the latter one, also said the French fans think the same due to translation), Smooth Criminal (played the demo, told about how the album version was sped up), TWYMMF (played the Grammy intro and talked about how it was recorded in Pensacola), Streetwalker (talked a bit about it was replaced by APOM)
- Dangerous: played "Happy Birthday Lisa", talked about Loren, Bill, Bruce and Teddy, Jam (vocal comp), Monkey Business, Keep The Faith (how MJ cracked his voice), Gone Too Soon (vocal comp), For All Time (played a demo - leaked), SPYHO (played the demo and played a studio video short clip), GITM (played jamming audio session when MJ and Bill created the song)
- HIStory: Stranger in Moscow (its conception and how MJ did not give credit to Buxer), YANA (vocal modulation at the end), Childhood (played studio footage), talked about Christmas Song and showed the footage available online, stories from Bryan Vibberts and Rob Hoffman. In the end Brad showed footage from album mastering session in premiere, with MJ, Bruce, Jam, Jimmy Jam, a guy Dave from Sony, a friend of Brad and Bernie Grundman, where MJ and Bruce were slamming the restroom door at the end - that was funny, it was nice to see MJ being frustrated to trim seconds from his songs in order to fit into CD (they had to cut 40 seconds from songs to properly fit into the CD).
- Neverland sound systems

I asked him about "Snakepit" - he was not aware of it. Also asked him if "Ghosts" was conceived for "Dangerous" - he did not know the answer here.

Brad was lovely in the sessions and he wants to return, he would like to come here with Brad Buxer.

Today half of audience was composed of musicians and music producers from Romania (Liviu Teodorescu, Laurențiu Duță), as Brad was invited here by Sergiu Gherman, who works at Westlake studios.

Thanks for your seminar feedback! The Smooth Criminal demo that Brad played was the already leaked one that is not complete or the full uncut demo?

Thanks for the info!
Ghosts was likely one of those songs that was developed for Addams Family Values in ‘93 with Teddy Riley, but heavily reworked during & after HIStory by others in Michael’s production team.
Wonder if it’s true Michael’s voice on that song was recorded in some hotel room? Sounds like it on the multitrack that surfaced.
