"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Why are we acting like music makes it a good movie?

This is a BIOPIC, it's not musical entertainment. If I want musical entertainment there's already plenty of stuff I can watch, Bucharest etc.

I've heard MITM like thousands of times, I don't need to watch somebody lipsync to it.

I really can't tell if this is a joke or not.
I was serious about fans contributing to the hype on social media helping the film do well and make enough that we get a part 2. I was half joking about fans needing to like and comment on every single post made on all different social media platforms of course as nobody can cover that much - nobody can do it all but everyone can do something and that will take us far :)

I do believe most on this forum take pride in this project and the numbers its going to do as it helps spread MJs legacy to new generations while also shutting up detractors and the evil media in the process - a great combination

Ps. For anyone that does not have time for the social media hype-train, just go and watch the move 10 times to make up for it 😻

To justify the cost of a follow up that would make less money than the first film.

I’m seeing current estimates putting this one at $569 million worldwide 🤔
Why would it make less? If the first one cost 170 mio they are way in the clear with 500. And considering they already shot part of 2, the second one might be even cheaper.

That's irrevant. Some made more. And double 170 is 340. Still a far cry from a billion.
That’s extremely rare though and almost certainly would not haplen here when most of the general audience are more interested in the earlier music. You don’t know this film will make a billion. Hopefully it will but it could go either way.

Not really 🤷
R1chard is not interested in the biopic, doesn't make him a fake fan or a hater.
I just watched Bohemian Rhapsody to gauge my expectations for Michael, and it's shockingly much worse than people said it was. I'm still looking forward to seeing the biopic to judge for myself, but I don't blame people here for having their own reservations about the whole thing.

But Bohemian Rhapsody and Michael has two different directors with completely different styles. I get that it was produced by the same person but that doesn’t mean that Bohemian Rhapsody has become a default template for musical biopics (I really hope not).

Austria: Finally some good and (mostly) positive promo at the main TV station in the news at 8pm.
