Indeed but that's my point. If, for whatever reason, there are delays or problems in getting any footage out there, you need to talk to your donors, let them know what's happening and why. Yes, by now he absolutely should have something to show or report on but if there are problems, then that is what you share with your community.
The whole 'too late' thing is bc he initially talked about the doc as being a response to the tv programme. Well, that won't work now since you need to respond to stuff like that pretty quickly. People lose interest and move on. He can still do something, of course, no question. But, as a robust challenge to the DR stuff, it needed to happen much sooner. Documentaries obviously take a long time to create so maybe that was never a realistic goal. But, again, you talk to your donors and let them know that the parameters have changed and why. And that, of course, brings us back to his apparent lack of professional, relevant experience. That's how it comes across to me. I do hope I'm wrong. Not holding my breath.
