"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

He did? I didn't pay attention to the credits.
Was it for the three songs they did together?
It was during the film, when his manager is suggesting that he goes solo, mentions Michael has a certain percentage of all sales sold, MJ the solo artist not the Jackson 5 and he thinks Freddie could be even bigger than MJ

I’m already seeing uproar on MJ Twitter about this and I don’t understand whatsoever. She’s not nearly instrumental enough for a spot. Otherwise, one could feasibly argue that Rod Temperton, Stevie, Teddy Riley, Bruce Swedien, Brad Buxer, Bill Bottrell, Jam/Lewis, Rodney Jerkins, and multiple others should also be portrayed. It’s just too complicated and messy.

It’s a Michael Jackson movie not a movie about the 1001 celebrities he met.
And i get that film , however Eddie Murphy is 'attached ' to Spike Lee . Spike / +Eddie+ /Iman/ + magic Johnson = remember the time ,,,m loved making his 'short films ' the creation and process ... and we all know the history about m and videos .. it will be interesting to see who gets a mention & who gets a character assigned...process of elimination in a way ? ..well, whatever it is ...it's a mission !
When are they filming the concert scenes with 72000 extras btw?
have not the foggiest , 😕

If man in the mirror is gonna be a theme throughout the movie I do hope Siedah will at least been namechecked.

It could be literally two seconds in a scene with Quincy, hey Smelly I've been working with Siedah Garrett and she's written this incredible anthem that I want you to consider.

You wonder if Bruce will be included too.

Hi,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post, but a film I directed about Michael was shortly after he passed away in 2009. It took a year and we celebrated filming it on his birthday in 2010. The title is "The Way He Makes Them Feel" and is about his fans. They were all highly affected by his bassing. If you are a fan, you will enjoy it. It's moving, heartfelt and devoted to him. Click Here and please share with others.

people freaking out over Jafaar like if it was MJ himself makes me cringe so so hard. They be acting as if we was getting the Bad Tour Film. Seriously, you are the reason The Estate will never work to restore the cool stuff. You make it way too easy for them

Us applauding the (as of yet) excellent execution of a biopic that most of us felt was a terrible idea at the start somehow equates to the estate not fulfilling your wish list?

Surley a name check at least, she wrote man in the mirror after all
Well, tbf, she co-wrote it with Glen Ballard so if she gets a name check so should he.

Agreed. You could certainly create a nice little dramatic scene for the writing of MITM. I'm not trying to downplay the importance of that song in Michael's career but, in the totality of his drama packed life, I don't think it stands out so much that Siedah has to be a character in the film.

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards the idea that it should have been a series of films and not one film alone!
How on earth will they include so many important issues and address them properly in one film alone is beyond me.

Its a biopic for the general public, stop thinking everything has to be included. I see so many things random events listed here as 'this should be included' while its not relevant it all.

This movie should show the most important and relevant events in his life to show his ups and downs and how he become the person that he was and what is message to the world was. All the others parts they will include are nice extra's.

We dont need lots of random characters as Siedah Garret, eddie Murphy or random things like Invincible stuff, random music video's recreations or other random moments. Just the essentials.

I understand the argument for more than one film. But I think one, stand-alone film is better, artistically and commercially.

If it works, if they get it right, the film could stand as a positive statement about Michael for years to come.

It’s making you cringe that fans are discussing what is arguably the most important release of MJ’s legacy within the past 20 years? Okay……
