The Last Person to Post in This Thread Wins

I wonder why there are so many of these particular albums and no others? Or does it mean nothing?
Dangerous was released at a time when CD had become the dominating media of choice, and I’m certain that has got to be at least part of the reason as to why it is relatively rare to find it on vinyl. The same logic then applies to all subsequent albums. You can even see it (although to a much lesser extent) with Bad, which in a way was Michael’s big media transition release (LP→CD), whereas Off the Wall and Thriller — it was all vinyl back then! (Well, cassette [MC], too. Even CD was available way before 1987, but its market was tiny by that point. You get the point.)

And then with Invincible, there was another transition at play, namely that from CD to digital (mp3, streaming etc.).

I am a bit surprised at the number of Thriller and Off the Wall copies in your video, but for other reasons: I would’ve thought you’d want to hold on to such classics. At the same time, I can think of many reasons as to why they’d be there. Poor masters are no doubt overrepresented; if you’ve got your hands on a decidedly better sounding version of the album, why would you ever want to hear the inferior version again?

Anyway, these are but my slight thoughts on the matter. I am interested to hear everybody else’s.

My option was that the rest bought more and that stayed. But I'm not sure))))

I don't understand. What is this? And why is the date crossed out? It's not clear about the beef either. 🤷‍♀️
Is that a barbecue?
It's a reference to Star Wars. May 4th refers to the "may the force be with you" line from Star Wars. The BBQ grill resembles the "death star" (that's Star wars too).

It turned out original)))))

That is the most MJ LPs I have ever seen! Usually in the states those four albums (including B25 and T25) are the ones you'll find in his section. Probably because they are his most popular. Maybe because they are the albums that were made before the allegations I'm not sure about that...

It is indeed a Star Wars reference - it pops up every year, lol - but consider this ...

Joseph Campbell, in The Hero With a Thousand Faces, suggests that humans have been telling the same basic story for millennia. The story of the hero's** journey seems to be the same across many different cultures, countries, languages. Lots and lots of similarities, apparently.

**in the ancient texts it's always a hero, never a heroine, afaik. No surprise there!

That's an interesting observation.
It sounds unusual to me that you can buy records so easily offline nowadays. I, for example, can't remember when I've ever seen a record on sale. I just don't go to such stores and don't even know where such stores are located.
