"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

^^
a bit of the Joe Jackson came out in Michael there, rude af 😆

Can’t believe they still included that in his home movies show .
99% sure they're ribbing each other, especially since he was crossing his eyes at the camera a few seconds earlier; guessing it was one of his nephews helping out. Definitely see the Jackson family in him in that moment though lol

Exactly. But that definitely was none of his nephews. The Jacksons didn't have kids that age with bass in thier voice. I dont think we'll ever know who was behind the camera that day

That's not rude, it's just frustration when you have a certain picture in mind and know exactly what you want but have to work with people who just don't get it (speaking of experience) 😂.

Also think it wasn't that serious 😛

Looks like Paris doesn't hate her dad after all.

Sorry Harun, your fantasies are only in your head.
🤨(n)o_O YOU JUST CANNOT STOP YOURSELF FROM FEEDING YOUR EGO IN THREAD AGAIN!!
Your ego needs to create so SO much drama that others like your CREW will have to come in here to defend you because your the ONE starting sh*t and continuing problems and attacks to harrass anyone and call yourself a VICTIM, you are the certified GUILTIEST GUILTER here 100%!
Great job of showing who you really are, as a cowardly bully!!! 5 STARS TO YOU!!

I have a new name for you since you like to call other people names without a care you are now a"DRAMA EGO CHASER" it is so perfectly you a true narcissist! Everyone else moved forward in this Thread and forgot all about you and your DRAMA chasing! So yeah why not KEEP IT GOING because you need the ATTENTION so badly right, so so sad really! It must have been a slow week for you, you needed to get one more cheap shot in at Harun your favorite TARGET so you can make this Thread about YOU yet again!
I hope you feel important in your own mind now yay so good for you!

BY DEFINITION: Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition in which people have an unreasonably high sense of their own importance. They need and seek too much attention and want people to admire them.
People with this disorder may lack the ability to understand or care about the feelings of others.

Important Note:
@Harun OR Any Memeber here that has been attacked by her PLEASE DO NOT reply to kelley's cowardly posts and replies, do as GAZ and HIKER has outlined on how to deal with egos like her's in here or anywhere and begin to
REPORT HER FOR EVERY EGO POST OF COWARDLY BULLYING OTHERS!

Do not keep whatever she starts going by replying back and derailing this great Thread further into her own personal TARGET PRACTICE!
She is POWERLESS and that is why she acts like she does to others for this reason, you do understand this type of behaviour in the kindegarten playground, just not from grown up adults anywhere else!

The more this Thread is derailed the more work the MODS have to do to CLEAN them out, she has no respect for anyone and she has made this very clear in her attacks on others and feels no remorse for who she hurts, I have never seen a proper APOLOGY from her either when she was proved 1000% wrong, that doesn't prevent her from continuing her drama ego chasing target practice on INNOCENT fans and members! 🤢🤮🤢🤮

🤫 Just LEAVE other PEOPLE, FANS and these THREADS alone and stick to the TOPIC not your TARGETS!
Grow up and act like an ADULT remember this is not your backyard!!
It is clear that you like to derail threads to give yourself as much attention as your EGO needs to get out of them, it is just not acceptable anymore!

STOP DERAILING THIS THREAD because your EGO needs so much drama, it is sooo gross honestly 🤢
I have REPORTED you again and will never stop until you are dealt with by Gaz as an example of what happens when others act like you!

🎯🗣️ I got all the time to REPORT you daily, repeatedly and happily so govern yourself accordingly!!
Why not go to your OTHER FAV MJ sites you talk about so much all the time in HERE and pick on EGOS your own SIZE? No fun huh? lol
I told you before I HATE BULLIES!!! You will NOT PASS anymore!!
I CARE 1000%!!

I think they need to put the biopic on streaming services very soon after its release.

People don't tend to go to the cinema that much anymore and prefer to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime. I think it would have been a lot better if they released a Netflix series split into 6-7 episodes about Michael's life, instead of a 3-4 hours-long movie.

Have to disagree with the theater-goer numbers; box office totals are trending upwards: 2025 already beat 2024's numbers in June, and forecasted to hit $9 billion. Definitely some good money to still be had, especially over streaming deals:

With streaming releases now coming out less than 2 months after a theater release, I think it's good to have both a higher budget from a film's production and the quick, convenient streaming advantages you mention.

A cinema release will always create more hype, more of a wave, more recognition and of course more financial opportunities than a straight to streaming.
A cinema release will always get to streaming eventually and the best advertisement for great streaming numbers is a successful run at the box office.

True true true!! Considering I watched This Is It 10x in the theatre back then god knows how many times I will watch this movie on the big screen as well. The cinematic experience is always the best!

“I am going to say something I have never said before and this is the truth. I have no reason to lie to you and God knows I am telling the truth. I think all my success and fame and I have wanted it, I have wanted it because I wanted to be loved. That’s all. That’s the real truth.”
I find this quote tragically sad, that he confused fame and success for love. And I wonder if he ever learned to differentiate between the two.

Could've possibly been an interesting angle for the biopic to explore.

It could also mean that he hoped he would get more love of Joseph if he became more popular..

I don't think he confused anything. It's a common reaction to a lack of love during one's early years. You could think of it as a surrogate. His father didn't give him love and a caring attention during his early years, which is why he fought to get a surrogate love and care throughout his adult life. Of course nobody can replace one's real father.

there is talk of a trailer coming up for november, likely along with the theatrical release of Wicked 2.

we may be finally close.

As MJ made no references to his father or his mother in the above mentioned quote, his reasons remain unclear and thus we can only speculate. And looking for a surrogate love through fame and success still makes it a misplaced love.

What is clear is that MJ states in his own words that he related fame and success to love, and he stated this to Rabbi Schmuley as a fully grown man in his 40s. He isn't particularly referencing his early career, he is reflecting on 'all' his fame and success. He has been married twice and had kids by this time. Interestingly, he doesn't note anything that indicates it used to be an old pattern of thinking, which leaves the probability that he may still have had a warped view of mistaking fame and success for love at the time of this quote. It's not like he said 'I used to think that was the way to be loved/I now know that was the wrong way to look at it'.

I find this sad. I do not say this as any criticism of MJ, and this may well have been a logical conclusion for him to reach given the very unique circumstances he grew up in. But measuring something as profound as love through the cold, harsh and fickle lens of fame and success must have been a difficult way to interpret love, and this is what I find tragically sad. And I hope for his sake that he learnt to differentiate between the two before his untimely passing.

Taylor Swift is going to monopolize the month of october and, given that apparently she's releasing something in theaters on october 3rd it was actually astute of Lionsgate to pick another date to release Michael. They probably don't want another big pop or cultural event to share Michael's spotlight once it's out. I wonder how the marketing for this movie will look like

Here's a random creative marketing idea. An MJ biopic trailer ahead of the Taylor Swift event would be great exposure. Also before Halloween to capitalize on thriller.

i would logically expect them to drop something around halloween, when Michael's music charts again and then release poster and trailer in november. however rumor has it that it's Universal who will handle the marketing of this movie. i can't wait for the radio silence to finally break and for them to take over

Use AI to recreate the voice of James Earl Jones who says... "Before Taylor Swift ...(long break with various video shots of fans screaming like crazy) there was ...(more shots of berserk fans screaming)... Something along a video I once saw which said so much with so few words... about Michael being called a genious misfit.

When you read the whole conversation, he seems to be talking about when he was young. Also, he's talking in past tense. He says, "I wanted people to love me," not "I want people to love me."

MJ: I am going to say something I have never said before and this is the truth. I have no reason to lie to you and God knows I am telling the truth. I think all my success and fame and I have wanted it, I have wanted it because I wanted to be loved. That’s all. That’s the real truth. I wanted people to love me, truly love me, because I never really felt loved. I said I know I have an ability. Maybe if I sharpened my craft, maybe people will love me more. I just wanted to be loved because I think it is very important to be loved and to tell people that you love them and to look in their eyes and say it.

SB: But the flip side of that, Michael, is that if you were given a huge amount of love as a child, then you might not have worked as hard to be successful.

MJ: That’s true. That’s why I wouldn’t want to change anything because it has all worked out in its many different ways.

SB: So you were able to turn the neglect into a blessing?

MJ: Yeah.

And there's another part in the book where he talks about this and it's clearly about his father:

MJ: Yeah, I wanted to become such a wonderful performer that I would get love back.

SB: So you could change him, you thought. If you. . . so you thought that if you became a great star, very successful, and were loved by the world, and were very successful, your father would love you too.

MJ: Aha.

SB: So you could change him that way.

MJ: Aha. I was hoping I could and I was hoping I could get love from other people, ’cause I needed it real bad, you know?

Anyone interested in Michael as a person should have this book.

Thanks for the transcripts.

But it's RS that is singling out the reference to his father and making references to his childhood, with his incessant need to control the narrative he is practically trying to shove words in MJs mouth, MJ is clearly stating he needed love from the recognition of others, not exclusively his father.

Either way, it doesn't change the fact that he mistook fame and success for love, and even though he talks in the past tense he doesn't in any way clarify whether he realised this was not the way to get love.

It doesn't have to mean that he mistook fame and success for love. It's just the next best thing you can get. Imagine standing in front of ten thousands of people cheering at you. Of course that's not the same as love but it surely gives you a lot.

'I think all my success and fame and I have wanted it, I have wanted it because I wanted to be loved'.

His words. He clearly confused success with love.

The problem with standing in front of ten thousands of people cheering and confusing it for love, is that if people then turn around and criticise you, then that person is in danger of interpreting the response as the opposite of love.

Fame and success is a numbers game that reflects the effectiveness of a particular product/brand. It is not something static and fixed, it is fluid and evolving, it is a measure of material/commercial success and is dependent on many external factors, it is not an appropriate or even a reliable barometer for love.

It's like the modern day equivalent of saying however many likes you have on a post, or however many friends you have on Facebook is a measure of how loved you are. It maybe a measure of how popular you/your posts currently are, but its a dangerous game you play with yourself if it is where you derive your perception of love, especially as it concerns people that don't even really know you.
