The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

I find it cool how "I Was The Loser" has more differences between "I Am A Loser" besides the lyric change, there are some changes in the mixing like the strings being more pronounced at parts (maybe there are more differences but this is the only part I was able to tell from right away)
And the autotune isn't too exaggerated either, the recreation had made Michael sound like a robot lol. Though, I'd still prefer the song without it. I still would rather listen to "I Am A Loser" instead, but it's cool to hear the song closer to what MJ intended us to hear.

And also where are those vocals at the ending taken from? One of the vocals reminds me of the falsetto at the end of "Best Of Joy". Is that where it's from or do both vocals comes from other unheard songs? @Korgnex

Do you know this because you heard it? If so, can you describe it?
Or do you know it from a source?
Or is it a deduction based on an interview with the songwriter?

Walter Afanasieff made 3 songs (at least) with MJ: The World Is No Church, Fall Again, Edgar Allan Poe.

We know that the song "Edgar Allan Poe" dates from 2000/2001. "Fall Again" dates from 1999. The songwriter gave an interview right after "Fall Again." In this interview, he indicated that he wanted to finish "Fall Again" and that he had already worked with Michael in the past. Hence the deduction that the first song they worked on together was "The World Is No Church."
Is there a source for “Edgar Allan Poe” existing?

Song believed to be written by Michael Jackson with Walter Afanasieff, circa 2000, for the shelved independently financed movie, The Nightmare Of Edgar Alan Poe, that Michael was slated to star in – remains unreleased. Also known by the title, Edgar Alan Poe.

I'd take anything from the For the Record book with a grain of salt. It has been outdated for some time already and there's a lot of rumor and track titles which I don't believe are real ("Fear" - HIStory; "Do You Love Me" - Babyface).

Great to hear Turnin' Me Off, it's such an unusual experimental track. That chorus is stuck in my head

Thanks to those who shared it and also congratulations to our new mods @SmoothGangsta @AlwaysThere brilliant choices
Right? The chorus has been stuck in my head as well haha. Mate, which one do you lean more towards: Abortion Paper or Turning Me Off?

I get what you're trying to do, but removing the information that was posted about the final version of Gloucestershire was unnecessary.
So it's just the removed whistle and the extra 5 seconds of vocals, is that all? Are there no other changes/additions compared to the leaked version?

And do the new vocals have lyrics or is it just mumbling?

That's a tough question my friend.

Probably leaning more towards Abortion Papers, I really like the song and I love the way Mike bites into the hook "signing your name against the word of God" if Mike had released the song I think he'd have called it "Signing Your Name" or something similar.

I really like Turning Me Off though, I love the unusual way he sings "Turning me OFF" it sounds so strange in a good way. It reminds of the Smooth Criminal demo were he's singing "Annie are you okay" a bit weirdly because he's experimenting with it

I keep singing "Turning Me Off, Badly" my girlfriend isn't happy, but it's stuck in my head

I like the way the sings the Turning Me Off chorus, the melody shift and all, but I think it could be a little more worked on at the end of the chorus. It's raw. I love the verses, the Marlene Dietrich line. It sounds like an angry and sassy Michael song, which is something that I don't think weve ever seen . We've seen sassy Michael though!

It's a good, interesting demo.

Not sure if this was posted already, but this leak of "I Was the Loser" is supposed to be the ORIGINAL track!

Unfortunately, according to a comment from the uploader JacksonUnreleased, the end of the track was edited by long time Michael Jackson collector Korgnex (why does Korgnex always have to edit stuff ).

There's a more advanced version of TMO than the leaked one. Vocals with Siedah!!!

From Bill:

We fussed with TMO a lot at Hayvenhurst but I never recorded any vocal.
Probably why I never liked the song.
On 1/30/89 I was working with Tom Petty.
On 10/30/86 I was working on Come Together
I don't know of anybody working on MJ on 1/30/89.

We did a lot in early Dangerous sessions:
Can't remember any of it. Piccolo Trumpet???
I really did not like this song!
