I love it, great song. Very MJ aswell. Loads of fans kind of skip jackson 5 and early jacksons, which I find bizarre. Loads of bangers from that era. Love the gamble & huff albums too.I don't get it, why Michael's first ever self-written (and released) song is criminally ignored by the majority of fans.
After all it's this very song that paved the way for what was to come.
It's not on this board only.I think basically if a song didn't have chart success, people on this board think it's shit.
Some of those mixes on that show are bloody brilliant actually. Must track down the audio again.I prefer the mix that was done on the Jacksons Variety show over the album version. It's slightly different and more funky.
Nobody here feels that way.I think basically if a song didn't have chart success, people on this board think it's shit.
Link?I prefer the mix that was done on the Jacksons Variety show over the album version. It's slightly different and more funky.
The ending (not in this clip) is the best part. Goes almost acapella with only claps. Very funky. I would assume The Jacksons arranged this version themselves. I like it better than the album version.^found only a snippet online
Never thought about it but do you know if their songs from the show were rearranged by them? The ending (not in this clip) is the best part. Goes almost acapella with only claps. Very funky. I would assume The Jacksons arranged this version themselves. I like it better than the album version.
Good question. No doubt, the brothers were capable of producing their own stuff while they're still at Motown.I wonder what other songs Michael submitted for the album before agreeing on Blues Away.
Love this song. I can already hear Michael and Jermaine on leadGood question. No doubt, the brothers were capable of producing their own stuff while they're still at Motown.
Their first ever produced & released song "What's Your Game" was given to the Willis sisters (released on Joseph Jackson's record label). Would love to hear a J5 demo if this.
Not sure if I ever seen it on anything but it's interesting they only released that one song but I'm betting there's more material from produced by the JacksonsAccording to discogs, Joe Jackson's Ivory Tower Records has issued only 2 7" singles - MDLT Willis' What's Your Game and Randy Jackson's How Can I Be Sure.
The latter was released on various compilation cds since the 1990s. Has WYG ever been released on a compilation cd, too?
