I've never thought of it! After re-listening to it, I completely agree with you. It would have been fantastic. :oops:


Anyway I do like JGF but it is also true that it feels a bit out of place. I don't think state of shock would have fit the album either, the song is okay, I listen to it but not with so much enthusiasm to be honest.

Well, I can force myself to hear it but honestly, I don't think this would elevated the song for the better. Cheater's perfectly fine as it is with solo MJ.

Imho I think TWYMMF would have been a perfect choice Stevie & Michael.

I don't think they would have been together again in '87, Freddie was probably with the other members of Queen recording the album The Miracle.

They had just released A Kind of Magic. Perhaps Freddie Mercury himself was already working in Barcelona to release it in '88; in '87 he released The Great Pretender.

It probably wouldn't have happened.
 
Bad didn't need any famous guest appearances aside from Eddie Van Valen on "Dirty Diana". "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" is the only duet that needed to be on the album; it was a big single.

"Just Good Friends" should've just gone to Stevie's album, or been put in the vault.
 
As far as the Bad album goes, the collab I'd be most interested in is the one with Roger Troutman, more so than Prince singing on Bad. There's been rumors that Prince recorded his own version. Both Wendy Melvoin & Sheila E have mentioned this.

Past around 1970, Stevie rarely had songs on his albums totally written by someone else. Stevie either wrote or co-wrote his songs. So he wouldn't have put Just Good Friends on his record anyway. The song was pitched to Mike or Quincy, not to Stevie. Get It was written by Stevie. Stevie sang or played on songs written by other songwriters if he was participating on other artists albums & he sang covers in concert or on TV shows.
