Billy Gilman has just posted this reel on Instagram and Facebook:

He says: "As a former child star, I was asked to perform for Michael Jackson his hit song "Ben" at his 30th anniversary concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Shortly thereafter, I was invited to Neverland Ranch for Christmas. And boy, am I glad my parents sat me down and said: 'When Hell freezes over.'"

What do y'all think? It's a bit strange...

If I understand correctly, he says he is *glad* his parents did not let him go... Because he believes Michael to be guilty, right? Why else would he be pleased by that?!

What's the actual point of that reel aside from guilting MJ? Why even make a reel about that and post it today, esp. the day after Janet Jackson's tribute at the AMAs? The use of inversion "am I" instead of "I am" seems to for emphasis.

Now, the caption says: "Child star Billy Gilman recants parents reaction to Michael Jackson Story!" To recant means "to withdraw or repudiate a statement or opinion formerly expressed, especially formally and publicly." What is he "recanting"? Have his parents ever said something about Michael Jackson's Neverland Xmas party? He probably means "recounts" instead of "recants" in the caption.

I consider him a traitor since he was well treated by Michael Jackson and Jackson's team, he publicly called him a friend years ago in 2018, he also performed "Man In the Mirror" on The Voice, and now, he's guilting Jackson out of the blue!

Robson, Safechuck, followed by the Cascios and now Billy Gilman?!!! When will that stop? Someone tell me! When will that slander train be derailed for good?

He's a singer active in the industry since 1999.

More about him: Wiki, Discography.

And as stated above, he once performed for Michael Jackson, and his performance was critically acclaimed. He also made it big in country, won prestigious awards, and he was the runner-up of season 11 of The Voice.

That said, it doesn't matter much how famous he is. What's problematic and concerning is this trend of celebrities who loved Michael Jackson, repeatedly praised him publicly only to turn on him and either accuse him of committing vile, unspeakable acts on them or simply state they believe he was a horrific monster, was the head of a child sex ring, had paedophilic "sexual needs" or whatever else they want to say. We do not need the list to get longer!

This guy hasn’t done anything of note since “What More Can I Give” and has to plug his new song by slamming MJ (in a video where he willingly puts the words “FORMER CHILD STAR” over his head and in the caption no less).

Not very bothered by this one lmao

Not sure why you felt the need to create a thread about this, honestly.
Because it's very scandalous to me (no matter how famous or not the person is), and it shows a worrisome pattern: a man in his thirties or forties who used to love Michael Jackson, praise him, who got close to Michael Jackson on at least one occasion, who then bizarrely turns on him and start to publicly accuse him or at least vilify him.

It warrants a discussion for those interested.

What changed? Is it Leaving Neverland (1 or 2) he fell for?

Now that he deleted those posts, let us hope he never does that again, but I cannot be certain he no longer feels that way. If he still feels that way, he had better keep it to himself.

And to think I actually gave this guys 30th Anniversary performance credit! But, as others have said, this guy is just insignificant on every level.

At least we have you to thank for:

  1. Spreading whatever it is he was actually sharing to the wider community (I don't quite understand, nor do I care)
  2. Reminding everyone that he even existed as a human being

How was he close to Michael?

Getting invited to Neverland doesn't mean that someone was close to Michael. People were invited to neverland every day and oftentimes when Michael wasn't even there.

Michael was barely ever at neverland in his later years.

This guy did not know Michael and if his parents refused to let him go to neverland, GOOD, because now he can't try and make false accusations, His parents bias and prejudice against Michael was a blessing in disguise FOR MICHAEL.

**** Billy and his flop new song.

It's crazy because I ain't seen or heard from this weak ass punk since 2001 & I never thought about him since. Even in my later years of watching the 30th anniversary....I will & always have skipped him when watching the show in full (which I never do. Only j5 & Mj parts normally) but I'm glad his folks didnt let him go either because ur right...he'd definitely be an accuser. Smh is it just me or does anybody else wanna fight all his accusers? Like literally bts out of them with bare hands for lying on that man!?

I'm bumping this since this thread I made a few months ago is now being used in some sort of paranoid conspiracy theory against me by kelley.

A shame because when I was younger I was a big fan of Billy. I saw him and met him in like 2006. I watched his performance of Ben on TV. I guess shitting on dead guys never gets old. **** him.

He probably fell for LN without doing any research + the negative bias his parents already put in his head. Or as stated above, just a cheap promo for his music.

Glad his 5 seconds of FAME made his parents so very proud ..and forgotten..🤥😶🫥

Weird you're deciding to tag me when most people who replied to this thread said the exact same thing. I'm not gonna be responding to your pm and I'll be adding you to my ignore list so I don't need to read any more annoying posts like this one.

Fine! Quoting one post was enough to make my point, and what's weird and annoying is dictating what can be posted or not. Why not just ignore "uninteresting" threads?

It’s always the people who didn’t really get successful…
Honestly , one of the best posts i have seen during all of this backstabbing . I really have to agree.
