This is a Björn and Benny song.
They needed some female voices and they took their girlfriends to the studio
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/WCdHfcAnAAw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Music critics noticed the girlfriends voices - both of them were wellknown singers in Sweden then.

You can see they have children on stage for this song

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qs7aSF7ZdzU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I think it was the first time they performed dancing queen the night before swedens king got married

Björn and Benny made some musicals Chess , Kristina from Duvemåla and was involved in Mamma Mia.
Frida and Agnetha made some soloalbums but not lately.
Their song Waterloo was voted as the best song ever in the Eurovision song contest some years ago and no member from Abba was present.
I think Benny said something ABBA was in the past and he had moved on.
You have to remember the last years in ABBA there were divorces and probably hard feelings
But you can change your mind

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/53vwDMzDyO0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

BAO-Benny Anderssons Orchestra have been popular in Sweden recent years.
You can see in some songs Björn Ulveus has made the lyrics.
Benny said it´s so fun to play live with BAO,ABBA was more work in the studio than playing live.
This song was number one in Swedish toplists for swedish songs ´for very long time,
More than a year maybe 2.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/e3izyRvktw4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It seems they have started to play ABBAsongs in BAO
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/M12Pe1xjYDE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I prefer when Agnetha or Frida sing ABBAs songs
Soldiers,from ABBAs last album Visitors
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/pQPuAlVIOv4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I think this was their last performance together

They begin a concert with Benny playing old pastoral hymn from Dalarna. It´s a hymn which is common in funerals but they started the show with it

Like an angel passing through my room
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Za7ThH5x01k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

They made some versions of this song and I read the other versions will be released in visitors deluxe album in the end of this month.
In the version which made the album there are only 2 ABBAmembers,Frida and Benny.
They were alone in the studio and I suppose it couldn´t be easy, considering that they had been a couple for many years but Benny had met another woman and wanted a divorce.
No wonder Frida sounds sad in this song.

I don´t know what the lyrics really are about but this song remind me of Michael-most thing does .
I see him as a free spirit and on the other side he met other free spirits who had been there for a while and knew things

I love when Frida and Agnetha sing together.
They are both great singers but their voices together are amazing

I have been listening to some of ABBAs latest work lately when I got another of their songs on my mind today.
It´s a song I haven´t listened to for ages and I don´t know why it was there
I dedicate it to Michael, and Michael I love you I really do

This is before ABBA, but I think the song fits in a Michael Jackson forum

Annifrids mother was Norvegian, her father was German.
Germany occupied Norway during World War II and she was born six months after it was over.
Norvegian girls who had fallen in love with soldiers from Germany weren´t popular.
Norway and Sweden are neighbours and Annifrid came to Sweden with her mother and grandmother.
I assume she sometimes have dreamt about Neverland where sorrow don´t exist

I´ve read they have sold about 360 -400 million albums.
ABBA Gold greatest hits was released 1992 about 10 years after the group split up.
Worldwide sales until 2009 were 38 millions
I don´t know if it´s true it is the third best-selling album of all time in the UK as of March 2012
It has been on UK top 100 for 500 weeks and holds the title of longest time spent in the album charts.
At least in the beginning of 2012.
The members in ABBA haven´t been out promoting it
ABBAs songs are played on and on and on

"The gods may throw a dice, their minds as cold as ice,
And someone way down here loses someone dear."

I haven´t really thought that much about the lyrics in ABBAs songs earlier.
I read the lyrics on the albums but I guess I didn´t really pay attention to them.
But I´m older now and can understand the lyrics better.

"The Way Old Friends Do

You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do
Times of joy and times of sorrow
We will always see it through
Oh I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do

You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
And after fights and words of violence
We make up with each other
The way old friends do
Times of joy and times of sorrow
We will always see it through
Oh I don't care what comes tomorrow
We can face it together
The way old friends do

We can face it together
The way old friends do"

Frida hold one arm around Benny, her man since 10 years.
Agnetha and Björn were divorced 1979 but they still could work together

"Fernando"

Can you hear the drums Fernando?
I remember long ago another starry night like this
In the firelight Fernando
You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar
I could hear the distant drums
And sounds of bugle calls were coming from afar

They were closer now Fernando
Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally
I was so afraid Fernando
We were young and full of life and none of us prepared to die
And I'm not ashamed to say
The roar of guns and cannons almost made me cry

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando

Now we're old and grey Fernando
And since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand
Can you hear the drums Fernando?
Do you still recall the fateful night we crossed the Rio Grande?
I can see it in your eyes
How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though we never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
Yes, if I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando...

I love Mamma Mia film too.
It makes me feel good.
I prefer to hear Agnetha and Frida in the songs but it´s ok to listen to others too.
For Michael I don´t want to hear anyone who sings his songs

ABBA in Japan
Look at the cars they are going in

Frida is in a kissing mood, she and Benny was married the month before after years of living together
For Björn and Agnetha it was divorce in the end of the year.
If you wonder they sing about the squirrel in the end.

"Cassandra means "she who entangles men" in Greek mythology.
Apollo gave her the gift of prophecy in return for her love - she accepted but refused his love.
Apollo then placed a curse on her so that she was doomed to tell the truth, but never to be believed.
Cassandra foresaw the destruction of Troy by the Greeks when they built a huge wooden horse and pretended to sail away. Cassandra warned the Trojans the horse would be the downfall of the city but she was ignored. The Trojan pulled the giant wooden horse inside their city as a victory trophy. Late that night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night, to enter and destroy the city of Troy and win the war."

I don't wanna talk about things we've gone through,
Though it's hurting me, now it's history.
I've played all my cards and that's what you've done too,
Nothing more to say, no more ace to play.
The winner takes it all,
The loser standing small beside the victory, that's her destiny.

I was in your arms thinking I belonged there,
I figured it made sense, building me a fence,
Building me a home, thinking I'd be strong there,
But I was a fool, playing by the rules.
The gods may throw a dice, their minds as cold as ice,
And someone way down here loses someone dear.

The winner takes it all, the loser has to fall,
It's simple and it's plain, why should I complain.

But tell me, does she kiss like I used to kiss you,
Does it feel the same when she calls your name.
Somewhere deep inside you must know I miss you,
But what can I say, rules must be obeyed.
The judges will decide the likes of me abide,
Spectators of the show always staying low.

The game is on again, a lover or a friend,
A big thing or a small, the winner takes it all.

I don't wanna talk if it makes you feel sad,
And I understand you've come to shake my hand.
I apologize if it makes you feel bad seeing me so tense, no self confidence.

One of my fav song of all time

Björn explains the lyrics .
He thought about how it was to live in a dictatorship.
