Bad 40th Anniversary

Dont't give me hope. We need more details! What source?
Edit: Source is an old tweet from Zakk..
The source is Archie, another user here who also commented on the HIStory Tour project. Can't be sure how reliable this information is.

Lately we've heard that The Estate acquired the rights to the Steve Porcaro tracks, perhaps we will hear Dream Away and Chicago 1945 as bonus tracks on a future anniversary edition of BAD? it's also possible that it will feature on something biopic related too on the other hand.

Why would you disrespect him like that? Those songs have a lot of value. They're worth standing on their own, not being tacked on to a budget re-release.

What's wrong with releasing an album called The Steve Porcaro Collection?

Thanks for the source!

Well, wouldn't that info support what Warren Eagles has been saying for years? He graded the wembley film..

They are going to hoard the film until the sun explodes lol

Michael's Estate is lazy and they've always been.

Hours of concert footage as well as behind the scenes footage and album session footage for Bad and they still choose to leave it on the desk.

Would love to see mixes of Bad & Smooth Criminal that have their cut verses restored.
I'm surprised the added verse from Bad hasn't leaked. I thought they would've at least put it on an extended mix but I also wonder if it was actually recorded

40 years … wow I’m getting old

Hope the song he did with Run DMC comes out in some form one day always found the concept interesting
I'd love to hear the original production Michael had for it. Probably a harder hitting Bad production

but I also wonder if it was actually recorded
I think so. Bruce' notes says the unused lyrics have been edited out. At least an early alternate take should exist.

Joe Vogel's book states MJ did record lead vocals for Crack Kills at Westlake in November 1986.

Did it say what day? I have an invoice from Hit Factory in November of 1986 but that's when Michael was filming Bad in New York

"For Michael Jackson" on the box but it was never intended for MJ. Lol.

Unfortunately not.

Bill Bottrell's session notes say tracking & overdubs November 4th to 7th

I wonder if the beat on the Crack demo has anything in common with Michael's version of Crack Kills.

In terms of business it make sense to do a Michael Part 2 next year and then release a 40th anniversary of the Bad album later on in the year.

Hopefully with some demos of the tracks on the album (Liberian Girl, Dirty Diana and Smooth Criminal please) and fingers crossed another Bad Tour concert, I'd even take a 87 show
