Does anyone know why Michael Jackson wrote the lyric "If you're thinking about my baby it don't matter if you're black or white"
What did he mean?? It's been on my mind now for years o_O
 
I've always interpreted it as being the baby from the 'I took my baby to a...' line in the opening. He's saying that it shouldn't matter to the world what colour his baby (his girlfriend) is, just to give an example for what the message behind the song is. That's how I view it at least. :)
 
isn't it "if you're thinking about BEING my baby..." ?
 
I Think Michael wanted To say That He Will Love His "Baby" ( His Girlfriend Or Wife) Forever, and It Would not matter That If She Was Black Or White. :candy:

He is probably referring to a girlfriend as above, but he could also be reference to his baby child ( The interpretation is up to the listener)

It could also be Michael shortened the lyric from being my baby .. as he often does to make a song flow better
The main gist of the song is ... - It doesn't matter if you're black or white. No matter who you are
 
Oh, listened again. He doesn't say BEING in the chorus, but it's kind of implied (later in the song, he says BEING my brother, so yeah.)
