Calling All US fans!!

I'm sorry, I missed this page. I don't come to this section. I signed the petition.

As for what else we can do...maybe we should all write to Clinton.:cheeky: He seems more open to these types of things so maybe there's something he can do. He's still a cool guy.:) Well, Obama is too sort of but he wasn't friends with Michael.

Good idea, but how would we get in touch with him?? :( I haven't the faintest idea how to do this. :(

Great idea, but it is not going to happen.The president have far too many serious problems on his plate.And every grand standing politican would chime in pro and con.Remember Obama's luke warm response to MJ's death.?He did not even release a public statement like all presidents do with notable deaths.He sent a letter under cover to MJ's parents after much backlash from the black community. That made me less than please with our president who almost made me bankrupt supporting his sucessful campaign for the presidency.

Yes it is. However as I said I don't know how to do this. I just came up with the idea and was hoping that people who wanted to join in could come up with something. So there are no links, except for the ones provided by other posters that are similar to my idea. You can just start reading from the beginning.

What about someone else's idea to write to Clinton. Maybe Clinton could persuade Obama.

That's an excellent idea.Love,Love clinton.But don't think they are that close.Clinton is fond of MJ and had zero problems talking positively about mj after his death.I am sure clinton would be more than willing to lend his support with anything mj.Was quite disappointed that clinton's image wasn't in the opening of THIS IS IT.Anyway someone should contact clinton office.His office is located on 125th st in Harlem new york.I have been in the building a few times.

Yeah that's a good idea. I could always send him a letter of my idea, and then maybe his secretary could help him(if he needs it) come up with how to put this together?? That may sound dumb to do, but I'm not going to pretend I had this all organized in my mind.

I don't have the slightest idea how to go about organizing something like this.I can suggest you contact clinton's office. Thank him for the kind words following michael's death.Tell him mj's global fans are desperate to honor him in a significant way.And needs the help of a prominent person like him who not only knew mj personally but can vouch for his legendary generosity.(after mj passed clinton said mj single handedly saved the democratic party when the party was on the verged of bankruptcy.) clinton owes mj big time! Please don't mention this or the money! Ask clinton if he has better ideas.I don't think you should mention our reluctant president obama.He has too much to deal with right now.Althoug i just saw him on tv with BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN at the kennedy center honors.That ticks me off anew.MJ should have received his kennedy center honor years ago.Address the letter to ATT: president Bill Clinton 125th st, Harlem Ny,New York. Sorry for the late reply.!

Don't need zip code.Clinton is like santa claus.He is guaranteed to get his mail even if you only put president clinton on the envelope.One of the perks of being president. Was away from my computer .
 
What does everyone think of this? But then we'd need email addresses, right? I hope it's alright to put the link here. It's not advertising, just trying to come up with an idea, although there is a similar petition already: Would just like some input please.

I don't think Obama feels the same way. I think he thinks he's a "freak". That's the vibe I got from an interview.

Unfortunately I got a similar feeling.I think he wants to keep a distance from Mike, his words after his death were few and cold.
But I think all of you US fans should go for it. The more the better!
And us, at the other side of the Atlantic we'll have to get together and do the same thing with our EU leaders.It's gonna be difficult to wake them up!!!
 
This really is a great idea. I'm gonna sign the petition as soon as I write up a brief comment in support of MJ Day!

Are you going to make the petition then? Thanks to all who are helping me out here. I only had the idea, but I did not know how it was going to be carried out.
